Gamescom 2016: Prey trailer

I thought it would be at least half of that cinematic pre-rendered animated teaser, but this looks so bad, especially interior design and lighting, imo it needs one fat slice of post-processing on top of all that.. ol


ID6? also again very weak atmosphere.. ID4 had the best.

 

That is no prey. Prey was something that never sold overly well either. I don't know why are they doing this game at all. It looks decent but not Prey.

 

Doesn't look anything as remotely epic as the original.Just let the classics be or enhance the original's story line.This sucks, it's not PREY.

 

Looks decent enough to give it a play through but I still don't think it should be using the Prey IP. It may be a reimagining of the original story but I still haven't seen anything in the trailers that even remotely links it to the original game in any way.

 

Gameplay looks nice although the UI is gamepad oriented.

 

This is a first-person shooter, right?

Ofcourse, it's not Prey, wtf are the portals? Where's the gravity switches? Where's the spirit effects/abilities etc? Where's the aliens with guns? Where's the puzzles?

I must be a mug.

how bizarre...i normally LOVE weird/creative stuff, especially scifi, but...well, for starters, cant say im impressed with the effects of that freeze gun thing. the animation/effect was jarringly dated. im not a graphics whore, but im already not sold on the whole "lets take the prey IP & just completely gut it" approach. its not a reimagining, its just stealing the name.

that combined with the fact that morphing into inanimate objects in order to access otherwise closed areas does nothing for me gameplay-wise (i dont find it clever, innovative, or engaging - sorrynotsorry) leaves me feeling pretty meh about this one. if it turns out upon release to have a great story, i might change my tune. not gonna be picking this up on day one tho

i think literally everyone who played the original is massively disappointed that this isnt a sequel. prey was a wonderfully inspired piece of work that just oozed creativity & fun.

 

I don't know why they bothered calling it Prey tbh, it looks imaginative enough to hold up on its own merits (finally a game that makes uses of mimics, the scariest enemy type known to fantasy kind)

 

I don't get it. Is it a remake or a sequel? Either way it doesn't look anyway near as good and fun as the original. :wanker:

Yeah, I'm confused about the title. The game seems interesting though. I honestly don't get the "this game doesn't look good enough" type of comments.

I'm not usually the one who says anything about graphics, but damn. The graphics in this gameplay looks like it's from 2010. How long as this been in development?

 

I like it, sort of Dead Space feeling, just less gory (at least in what we can see so far). I'm usually not a fan of horror-ish games, but somehow the ones that take place in space are appealing. We'll see.
