Have you tried to install any other games?
Are there any scratches on the disk?

I think your C drive is FAT32 which is causing the problem. FAT32 cannot process files over 3GB. Format your system by using NTFS file system and you won't have any problems.

It should take about 8-10 minutes to copy that game from dvd to hdd. If it takes more than 15 min then its probably your dvd drive. Try replacing the sata cable and connect a different power cable. If the problem persists try a different drive or else replace your drive. [Fill up your system specs on the left side]. Good luck.

What resolution are you playing cod4 and on what monitor [crt/lcd]? Anyways, 90 fps is cool.

You may have a cheaper slower DVD player, they come in many speeds & really dont cost much differently but its easy for a builder to slip you a slower one. What you want is a SATA 52X/32X/16X that pretty much covers all CDs & DVD formats. Im a Memorex fan myself. Actually its best if your HD is also SATA, every little bit helps. IDE is ok for a floppy but these days an external USB flash does that job for you easier & faster. Check your HD to see if its a 52,000rpm IDE or a 72,000rpm SATA there is a diff in CD to HD if thats the case. You want everything to be SATA if poss given a choice. Yea, you need to finish filling in your sys. specs.

both the hd and the cd drive are both SATA :D and the drive works fine in XP, does everything fine. however in xp wont :/ its a TSSTcorp SH-s223f. i think ill take it back to the guy and ask if he can supply a driver disc or something to make it work in vista or put me in a drive which will work fine in vista and say that the drive shows in vista but when i use it to copy games over onto the hd it stops working.. good idea?
