witcher 2 for how beautiful it looked back in early 2012 Heavy Rain , when it was revealed who was the killer , man Dragon Quest 8 , when a game defines the word " journey "
Jet Set Willy was a very early game that left me in awe thinking about the amount of rooms to visit, how to get to them and once i got to them, how to actually get all the glasses in them. Banyan Tree anybody? (1984)
Operation Flashpoint, one mission where I had to sneak through a small town avoiding patrols to reach a base to blow up tanks. I snuck into the town with my silenced MP5 and killed most of the troops. One guy tried to run off and warn the base, I chased him through the woods in the dark, heart pounding as I tried to kill him before he warned the others. That was a defining moment for me, I'll always remember that.
OMG! well going right back Elite. I sank an entire school summer holiday into that game. Jet Set Willy. So incredibly frustrating and fun Wing Commander. 1st time your mission outcomes had consequences. Freespace. a game full of WTF moments. KOTOR. The best plot twist outside of the movies. SWG, my 1st MMO before Sony ruined it. WOW, cause, love the back story and lore. Dungeon Keeper. finally a chance to be evil. Arkham Asylum, How a Superhero game should be made. Far Cry 3, one of the Best open world games ever. Bioshock 1, the second best plot twist ever.
Omaha beach landing from MOH allied assault, was great gaming moment for me. I lost count how many times I replayed that level.
gta 3 in the first 5 mins in i got out the car and beat some old lady and took her 2 $ i was like wow!
Yeah, "Saboteur" I think you're referring to. I loved all of the Black Ops missions. I replayed that one in the new Cold War Rearmed 2 mod and it was every bit as amazing as when I played it in OFP, maybe a little harder though.
Yes yes yes. How did I forget that. Also remember replaying the entire 1st chapter because one of the characters died and then realising you could not save him.
Freespace and Freespace 2. Wow, just wow. Beautiful even by today's standards and one of the best stories I've ever gotten to enjoy in a video game. Would love to see a movie based on the duo.
I hadnt had computer, or a proper gaming one, for multiple years, and then I bought Xbox 360 + Fallout 3. That was something. I hadn't experienced such immersion in a game. Then I built a gaming computer just before Battlefield 3 came out, and that game was again something different. It looked so real
The very first time i stepped out on to Hyrule field as Link after the Kokiri forest in Ocarina of Time. Were is the best place to go first, how do i get there? (1998)
Cryostasis. Period. I'm surprised no one mentioned this game. I think it's one of the best and most atmospheric game I've ever played! Problem was it was buggy and laggy no matter your hardware... That said, it was a brilliant game that kept me entertained until the very end. I wish a second part was released...
Total Annihilation Starlancer Super Mario 64 Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Knights of the Old Republic Homeworld Company of Heroes Portal 1&2 Halo: Reach Gears of War 2 Uncharted 2: Amongst Thieves Mass Effect 2 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Battlefield 2 Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Multi) Fallout 3 The Witcher World In Conflict Saints Row 2
Oh yes this was epic! Also Max Payne when he is having a nightmare and you have to follow that blood trail! it was so freaky! Mafia 1 ending! Left me stunned!
HL2 F.E.A.R. I'm forced to say BF3, but only as I've been waiting on it for so long. In hindsight, I should not have been impressed.
Very first game that awed me was Atari's Pong back in 1972. I couldn't believe the amount of english you could apply to the pong with the paddle. Amazed me. I wondered how the heck could they do that.
