What do you guys think?
I think they´re digging a grave for the xbox and i need to pick my popcorn.
Corporate greed at it's finest....
My interest in the next-gen consoles just keep waning...First Sony begins with online fees, now Microsoft becomes even more greedy
I hope that the consumers will step up and vote with their wallets for once
Looks like it'll be Wii U and PC for me
Nickel and dime policy is reaching an all time high in the gaming industry. I can't wait to see it fall over at this point.
It needs to fall over.....quickly....
Well, the newsitems in this forum say enough:
- Sony confirms PlayStation 4 game recording is a free feature
- Gamers to pay for key Xbox One features
Did you see that Xbox Day One headset, what a disgrace. Oh i almost forgot a Chrome D-Pad, yes yes >_<
The rumour was it didnt get any headset at all, so this is a nice surprise tbh.
Ye, surprise a €5,- mono headset...
Would rather have a snickers bar.
I'm surprised people post so much hate about a few bucks a month, while spending a lot of money on DLCs, including day-1 releases.
Its not about the money but the principal of them charging you for using nothing from M$ other than the XBox One which you have paid for.
Internet Access? Not Microsoft.
Upload / stream stream server? Its twitch, not Microsoft.
Netflix? Not Microsoft.
The only thing that is provided by Microsoft is the free game I suppose + the server they holds for XBox Live games.
On ther other hand you can see articles like this:

I'm not defending MS/XboxOne in hardcore fashion, just pointing at Sony/PS4 marketing. They're doing virtually the same stuff, but telling about it in other way.
Nowadays if you buy a console, you pay for online services anyway. Be it Xbox Live Gold or Playstation Network. If I get some extra stuff like TV shows advisor or Skype, that's good. I don't think that buying a new console without intent to ever use it online is reasonable. These devices are online-centric.
If you don't like it, you can always play PC games - solo or with friends. They're often much cheaper, there are more indie games, and you can record/stream however you want.
Look like the war of xbox and PS users is really starting now.. lol... They offer additional service, if you dont want use thoses service, dont pay and dont use them.
- The internet access is not your internet acess, its the link to some additional features on xbox live, so their servers, their services.
- If for remote streaming they use Twitch service, i can allready tell you, for xbox live users, MS pay a rent to twitch ( dont think the servers used by Twitch are free for them, and they will offer it for free to MS, it could have been twitch or another one, but no ( i even have a doubt if it is not the server of MS who are used, they you can publish them on Twitch using the server upload from MS .. ( Twitch in this case is just a portal ( a popluar one for games streaming ).
DVR function is anything but a KEY function. But what you expect? Satellite/Cable companies make you pay for for dvr show too
So, MS continue charging for online features just as they have been doing since the original Xbox .. and people are taken by surprise by this?
