game on windows 8 vs windows 8.1 ?

    I never run at anything other than the native resolution of my monitor and don't understand why you would want to. Anything other than native always looks like crap. If you run at a lower resolution, do it in a window because it will look terrible in full screen.

    Well there you go. That would be an example of running at a non-native resolution to improve image quality.

    If you have no hardware blocking issues, there's no reason not to be on 8.1 Update 1. Unless you spend all your time on the machine with the Start Menu sitting open, the Start Screen is a non-issue and the performance/security improvements are totally worth it.

    You do realize you can easily circumvent this by using SweetFX through RadeonPRO? I've had no problems running SweetFX with any of my games under 8.1, using this method.

    Seeing as the development of SweetFX had been halted for nearly a year, and RadeonPRO makes it way easier to manage I really don't see this as problematic. Unless you're just complaining to complain.

    8.1 broke all DPI scalings. specifically they removed xp scaling. i just cant get used to anything other
