Have not seen a single minute of Game of Thrones. Keep hearing it's good. Everyone agrees it's good?
I have not seen the show, but I have read the books. Amazing series, cannot wait for more!
No I meant like why did they go so fast... I want to see more lol.
And yeah Jon is cool, love him. I think he's deserving of the Warden of the North title.. as he is.. sort of, a stark after all.
It's pretty much the best fantasy tv show (and also movie, in many ways) out there, it has a HUGE budget and it shows. Some people find it a bit hard to follow, since there are several storylines and many characters, but for me it's a non-issue, especially since I also read the books (which btw are also awesome).
I also think it's HBO's most successful show ever, so yeah, it is definitely worth it even if it feels a bit like following a hype bandwagon now, since "everybody" watches it. I follow it since the pilot first came out and I still think it's a very good show.
cool, thanks. Is it available anywhere else outside HBO? Netflix, Amazon Video Prime etc? Sky Demand?
I think so yeah, I don't think it's exclusive to HBO's online service.
It is, for the newest episodes anyways. Its either HBO online service, or having HBO tv package from your tv provider.
The show airs on national television in several countries, but with quite a bit of delay.
I see, I do have it on my TV and it airs always on Mondays, so a 1 day delay.
I just watch to see the little guy troll everyone. If he dies the show is death to me tbh
Watching tonight , me and the wife have the popcorn ready ,, just got to get the kids in bed out of the way ,,, i'm hoping that season 5 is going to be great , but the 1st 4 episode leaked , someone going to get in trouble for that im sure .
It's awesome mate. I never heard of GoT or the books til this thread a couple years back, it's similar to the Soprano's but better.
I encouraged my Mum to watch it, after the 1st episode she was like "eww it's just sex and violence I'm not interested" but I persuaded her to watch a couple more and now she's hooked.
Try her on the knick next...(awesome series if u havent seen it). My sis and Mum are hooked now..
p.s and yeah eclap you def need to give it a go.
I think the season started great myself.
Not it's not. We don't even have HBO in NZ.
It screens on Tuesdays because of the time difference, NZ is the 1st major country west of the International Date Line (unless u include the island of Kiribati). Means we celebrate NYE before everyone else....
Same for us.... SOHO subscription shows it unedited, Prime is free to air but most of the sex and violence is cut.
Well, Jon and his mother...
Well, Jon is Stark in the end anyway.
Who do you guys view as having a legitimate claim to the throne? Atm I'm leaning towards Stannis....
I totally liked first episode tbh. And won't be watchin anything leaked.
Legitimate? Well, Stanis (Baratheon) is as legitimate as current power legitimacy goes since his house got to throne by those means.
House of Lannisters has no claim at all, but Tyrion would be good ruler.
Greyjoy - not at all. And not even in vote.
Martell / Tyrell - while not exactly bad rulers, they have no claim.
Tully / Arryn would not likely want to have it for themselves.
You are left with Targaryen + Stark.
If we take longer history, then it is Jon (while he is not "Snow", he is now black) after that it is Daenerys.
But Jon would be in top of most wanted kill list if he decided to claim it, same way as Daenerys.
Hodor. He's the only one who will remain after all of the others have killed each other.
Hodor knows everything unlike Jon Snow, he's a prophet :wanker:
The Dornish rules of ascension recognise that females can sit the Iron Throne (ps keep a look out for that playing a role possibly in the future ) So that would mean that old Dragon girl Daenerys Targaryen is the rightful ruler. If however you go with the rest of the Kingdoms rules then with no natural born male air I guess that means that Stannis is the rightful ruler.
Not sure how Jon Snow has any claim to the Iron Throne? When did the Starks have any claim to the throne? I must have missed some info regarding the early history.
