What I find mind blowing is the shear amount of people that think George R. R. Martin is spoiling the show by writing the books. Are people really that dumb? No, that's not a trick question :funny:
He's not making any decisions about the show, they ask him to write a few key episodes and that's about it. In a recent interview he actually talked about how all the small changes are leading to bigger ones as the show begins to spiral out and how he dislikes the changes. I also think the show needs to do a better job bringing up stuff that has already happened. I don't remember if the Tower of Joy was mentioned in the show at all but I asked multiple people I know that only watched the show and no one even knows what that is. They don't know about rhaegar and lyanna, they don't know about Howland Reed, they don't know that Jojen and Meera are Howland's kids. If the story in the book goes the way most people think it's going to go, it could be one of the biggest most thought-out twists of all time. And yet the setup is completely missing from the show series. They should really expand the show to 12 episodes.

Ugh I hated all the changes from last nights episode from the books. Spoiler Really Grenn and Pyp? Why? But holy god was that 360 pan scene + the fighting awesome.
I totally agree, it was completely unnecessary... The rest of the episode was quite nice, a lot like I imagined it when I read the books... obviously the scale could have been a lot bigger, it was far from what 100.000 men should look like. BUT, bottom line is I liked it, just as I did the Blackwater Battle, nice to have so much action for a change. Also, it was apparently the most expensive episode to date, which doesn't surprise me considering the amount of CGI.
