Yeah, I can see where Samsung has done irrepairable damage to the reputation but c'mon, GALAX? They couldn't come up with something better?

Should not have shorten name, if they used name from old "Galaxian" it would be much funnier and likeable since it is game.

Last two lines are the most important part of the article. Brand names are meaningless

 

Brand names are quite important to a rather large portion of the population. More products sell purely off brand recognition than anything else. If brand names didn't matter, they wouldn't be marketed. Fact is, people are more likely to buy a brand they recognize, than one they don't. Of course, people are more likely to avoid a brand with a bad reputation because they recognize the brand.

 

I immediately don't care. Marketing fail.

To some people brand names are everything, even if it is more expensive, not quality etc...

I can be a brand loyal person, but only if it makes sense.
