    It is exactly that.

    @Noisiv : Look at both images of card. That's same card, same back plate. Back plate has mounting holes.

    That's the back side of the card. i.e. the side that faces up in typical cases. They seem to have kept the "founders edition" kind of style with the pass through fan idea, but added the ability to clip an auxiliary fan onto the back of the card as well to help pull the air through. Essentially a push-pull end of the air cooler. Seems odd, and i can't imagine it really doing a WHOLE lot for temps... but hey....
