Im going to try this mod as well. What happens when an update or patch gets released. Do I have to reinstall the mod? OR will the patch work with the mod?

Oh.. I need to set up an account to download? Is there any other place I can download it without setting up an account?

StrayKatt, in most cases an update would not effect the mod but some mods released after an update may require the latest update, this would be mentioned in the mods faq. Most larger/ more complicated mods have extensively detailed FAQ and instructions.

Damien, I'll list the easiest to use tools you need to get the mods installed and a small slection of mods I can recommend. I might also make a thread dedicated to skyrim mods at a later time.

Before using any of these you'll need to create an account at Skyrim nexus.

    http://www.skyrimnexus.com

    Tools:

Nexus Mod Manager - OPEN BETA

    http://www.skyrimnexus.com/content/modmanager/

This will install and manage all your mods and tell you of any updates. Just point to where your current mods are or use the default folder for keeping your mod archives. You'll also want to use the 4Gb aware patch as when using mods this is generally required to avoid crashes etc.

You need the 4gb enabler on nexus forum, once you download it extract its contents into same directory as your tesv.exe and skyrim launcher.exe.

Run the nexus mod manager and install your mods, once you have done this, reset archive invalidation just to be sure, its a setting on the nexus mod manager gui, once you have done this go into settings-skyrim and in the bottom box which says command type in skyrim4gb(you dont need to type in the exe at the end).

Then click ok and select launch custom skyrim, you gave will now launch using the 4gb enabler allowing you to use more ram.

    Another very good thread.
    *Skyrim Total Enhancement Project*

One of the best mod pages on the whole of nexus forums, this page is constantly updated with the best mods to use and how to use them,it also shows you how to do alot of tweaking. Its a big page and has alot of info for beginners and experienced modders.
There are some advantages/disadvantages to using some of the most popular mods, all explained here.

just start the game using the 4gb file, doesn't matter where the 4Gb enabler file is kept as it'll find the find the game exe by itself and launch with LEE flag enabled.

This is the recommended 4Gb extension.

why is it recommended if you can open TESV.exe with CFF Explorer and enable LAA flag?

Or is it because of steam block?

hi if i try to open the custom launcher like post 83 says i get this error

original exe modified - i need a stream exe

why i dont have stream and its a retail version so is it saying this mod only works with stream.exes

    Watch this video.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzilxM3Ks4E

Doing it this way works better than CFF explorer as CCF explorer is not as stable,i havent crashed once yet and i now have over 45 mods running.

Ok I watched the video. I download the mod manager. Then through the mod manager I download all the mods and 4gb patch that Zero listed. Then once they are all downloaded, I click on what mods I want to run, and follow the steps enabling 4gb and launch custom skyrim within manager and I should be good?

Will these mods impact the performance or does the 4gb patch make it so it doesnt?

I guess if its not working for you then i suggest using Blackzeros method or you could download a cracked exe like i have to get my past the new patch like i did.I suggest you just use Blackzeros method.

Some mods do impact performance especially the complete retexture of city ones and flora but if your rig is pretty decent you can run this game practically with everything up high-ultra with anti aliasing,if not you can always tone things down a bit,i actually tried loads of settings over the last few days i must of reinstalled over 5 times before the mod manager was out,its now alot easier with the mod manager. The 4gb exe helps alot.

You can also try this program to free up memory, just add the exe and set the game to true, then run the game.

I aint tried this one but it looks ok.

edit: I noticed you have 2x 470 in sli,you should be ok to play this game on high settings easily, dont forget to add the exe to nvidia inspector and tweak it for best performance, getting the best out of this game takes quite abit of time tweaking it,you cant do it in 5 mins,it can take hours.

A couple of Hair enhancements for both males and females, both get rid of the overly scraggly hair to varying degrees. I'll add my own images so you can see the differences between both mods as they can't be used together, ofcourse.

I prefer the handsome hair mod as the other seems to make it look overly fine.

It's filtered, likely a noise and sharpen effect.
(I don't really like such "re-textures" at all but that's just my opinion.)
