I know Im outdated, but until I upgrade I need a new gaming/OC mobo for my FX-8350. The gigabyte one I ordered was a dud and Im struggling to find a decent replacement.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks!

Well first off it's difficult to suggest anything without you specifying where you are. Your profile states US, so i'm going to assume it's correct.

If you just HAVE to have a motherboard that supports that processor, then it's a bit difficult to suggest anything. Everything will be old and probably more expensive then they should be, but there's definitely options. Other then ordering motherboards and testing them out, i'm not sure anyone here will specifically state "this one is good" as the important part really is: will it work.

    https://www.amazon.com/M5A78L-M-Plu...n-type:2224371011&rnid=2224369011&s=pc&sr=1-3

That one is new directly from amazon for $69.99 and states support for your CPU.

Beyond that, and i haven't looked a ton, there doesn't seem like there's many other better options, unless you want to try gigabyte again. Most motherboards that are available still, have fairly bad reviews, or are very expensive.

Otherwise i'd suggest selling what you have, CPU and RAM, and getting a new, cheap CPU, new cheap motherboard, and new cheap DDR4 ram, for $200 ish

Just to put it in perspective, a 2200G would have mostly better performance then the 8350 unless you're using programs that can efficiently use all 8 threads of the 8350.

    https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-3-1200/p/N82E16819113446 Ryzen 1200 for $71.79
    https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813157871 $64.99 motherboard
    https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820231892 8GB(4x2) DDR4 2666 memory $68.99

Total: 205.77 minus whatever you can sell your CPU and ram for.

The cool thing about this setup is if you aren't trying to spend a lot of money but need a working computer, and plan on upgrading later, you can always upgrade later to at least the 3000 series (3900x is on the CPU list, for what its worth) of AMD CPUs.

    https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/index.asp#CPU

So you have an upgrade path that'll only cost you at that point the cost of the CPU.

But if you're not interested in that scenario, then the first link i sent is what i'd suggest...i guess? Like i said, it's difficult to say with certainty what will work and won't, and it's kinda just a try and see and if it doesn't, send it back.

If you can find one cheap then get yourself an Asus Crosshair V Formula
