I was asking Frank Azor about the Anti-lag+ exclusivity and some software engineer said this. https://twitter.com/iDeco_UK/status/1695519246510416049?s=20
I also find it strange when he says that WMMA is used in antilag+ but then says that CUDA is also used to accelerate DLSS. I mean I can tottaly understand that WMMA can be used to accelerate FSR3 but what does have to do with antilag+ ? Idk I'm confused lol.

I used to mess with codecs to increase framerate of video playback altho it would use a lot of CPU be nice if AMD made it possible for video playback, but what i really want is 1080p to 4k upscaling for video playback.

AMD had all of this for video but they decided to remove it with the first NAVI chip (AMD Fluid Motion Video and upscaler) as useless. But now thanks to NVidia, they are getting it back as something very cool. Just like the stupid move of Microsoft with the start menu in Windows 8.

Ugh WIndows 8 start menu was so bad, i did not mind tiles tho wish they did not go away fully from tiles in windows 11 rather then then a extra widget bar i never use.

They removed the start menu completely and later they announced getting it back as a "new feature". :p

It was a cool feature. I remember using it with a Radeon 390, plus the BlueSky video codec, and it worked very well.
Imagine my disappointment when I bought a 6800XT several years later, to find AMD no longer had this feature.

I had the same experience 290X -> 6800XT, so disappointed about the video playback! Now SVP doesn't work so well as Bluesky Frame Rate Converter with AMD Fluid Motion Video.

I hope FSR3 will work at least as well as the old AMD Fluid Motion Video.

Suspect it ends up working best on newer hardware, im curious how much of a vram hog its gonna be, since NVIDIA cards have low vram often is that even gonna run, or does it just lower the amount of frames generated to stay within vram limits or use system ram instead altho the later probably would lower framerate rather then increase it or have some other downside.

    It's RDNA3, so theoretically, yes.

Did I miss something? Or, has FSR3 been confirmed for 6th, September? Gonna be interesting to see how well my RX 7900 XTX and RX 6900 XT handle it....

For sake of testing its gonna be interesting but i dont plan on playing first two supported games.

Also swapped my 6700xt+100€ for a 6800xt until i can get something even faster like 7900xt. Want to try driver level fsr3.

FSR3 will be patched in those two games sometimes in September. There is no release date.
The only confirmed thing is that on 6th September the new GPUs will launch so there will probably be new drivers around that date.

Nice, let me know how the 7900xt goes if you get one. If the 7800xt ends up a disappointment, I might get one myself.

Still didnt try fsr2 in Dead Island 2. There is no need especially now. Started playing again trying to finish it.

    6700xt 70-80fps ultra native
    6800xt 120-130fps ultra native

    Its like 50% faster. :D
