Apparently they do need to gimp FSR to make DLSS look better. The pics in my prior post show the IQ improvement with Ultra Quality.
    :D

There you go. For anyone interested. That's how you enable UQ FSR manually.

And they came out with a dlss patch few days later and didnt even mention the fsr issue. What a shady practices.

can we see the pictures ?

11% difference in avg,21% difference in min fps, this article is bs
fsr uq and dlss q run the same,or margin of error differences, certainly not +10%

according to your own link, dlssq=fsrq not fsruq in terms of performance, and it looks super bad in comparison, look at the vegetation,it's awful.
the fsr "uq" looks better here, but god knows what we're looking at,that is not a fsr uq preset at all with 10-20% differences in performance.
    it's 23.5% pefromance difference between 67% fsrq and "77% fsruq". yeah,right.

are they really doing this ?
    lol
a lot of dlss games have fsr too

to me it looks like as a response to amd forbidding dlss.nvidia didn't forbid fsr,but it made it look worse than it is instead.let's hope that'll teach amd to stop being dicks to gamers and developers.

Developers are deliberately nerfing the fsr quality and thats what you took from them the context? How can you be so uptight lol

Many more people are effected by doing this even the nvidia users. Dlss was crap at the release btw they just fixed it.

2.0 launched 2 years ago, that's "just".it's twice as long as fsr has been made avaiable.

yes, that is what I took exactly.didn't you ? it clearly seems like a response to locking dlss by amd in games they sponsor.
how can you be so naive and biased ?

btw I never heard about this, amd forbidding dlss in their games that is.it comes from an ubisoft employee,a company that has a lot of amd sponsored games.
seems unfair, nvidia never did forbid fsr.

it looks like anti-consumer,I wonder why hub or adoredtv haven't reported this yet.

Ubisoft have alot of nvidia sponsored games too like watch dogs and rainbow six, it goes both ways. Idk if should believe their former employee but one thing is clear, techland and nvidia wanted to make sure fsr looks bad in comparison.

    and we know why.
amd are playing very dirty here forbiding the developers from using dlss.
make something better instead of locking the competition's technology out.

that employee says the same thing you are saying btw.

Check out my comparison and see which one looks more faithful to Native

And FSR UQ is the most blurry out of the 3

Even on the phone i can tell dlss looks more blurry but fsr has aliasing issues and somewhat oversharpen.

on my 48in OLED DLSS Balanced and Native look very much the same even at 400% zoom, FSR UQ is slightly more blurry although much more usable than FSR Quality.

Now this I don't understand when AMD fans think FPS is everything, but now complain that FSR Quality looks too bad for the extra performance it provides over FSR UQ mode? heck I would happily use DLSS Balanced or Performance in Dying Light 2 :D

Image quality is everything dont you agree? Thats why dlss have such a good rep. Extra performance comes next. If i had your 3090 i would play native/60 every time.

well forst of all their "fsr uq" runs a lot slower.
god know what they're doing here.

    no you wouldn't
you'd play 4k fsr uq,and 4k dlssq is even better.

You would do the same though, 1080p FSR instead of 720p Native :D

1440p fsr uq would be enough for me. ;)

that is actually true what he's saying
1440p high refresh rate became a thing in 2014-2015
time to move on,it looks poor compared to 4K.
not poor in general,it's decent enough, but it's time for it to go.

    did I miss Undying buying a 6500xt ? :p
