For Shadow with XeSS. ReShade FidelityFX CAS is a necessity, otherwise the game is way too soft.

I've kinda accepted the ridiculously performance hit on my card. I'm treating XeSS as a better AA solution than SMTAA 4x from the game.

The improvement to vegetation on XeSS is outstanding vs the regular TAA.

1440p + XeSS Quality at ~60 it is.

 

Pretty sure well implemented FSR 2 would look several times better. XeSS DP4a Ultra Quality looks a lot worse than DLSS performance. That fallback's quality is a disaster tbqh, it looks like trash compared to TAAU in Assassin's Creed Origins from 2017 (AA option set to low). But yeah, SotTR's TAA is a disaster too.

 

XeSS DP4a is a disaster in Hitman 3, massive blur, smearing and even banding vs. FSR 2.1 mod:


And for DLSS, they apparently activated DLSS sharpen on top of way too strong and mandatory CAS. Looks badly oversharpened:


Native FSR 2.0 implementation is badly blurry vs. 2.1 and it gets even worse in motion:


Worst feature update of all times. But at least the FSR 2.1 mod now works with D3D12 without VKD3D-Proton...

Hitman 3 uses native FSR 2.1.1, despite in-game saying just 2.0
My guess is that using with mod, it enables sharpening, like it does in DLSS.

 

That looks so weird too. It's almost looks like a blurry post bloom filter is turned on.

 

It's not just that, the mod is temporally more stable too.

Way better than the initial FSR 2.0 update. They also acknowledge that it still needs some work and are going to patch further. They are doing a pretty great job supporting and updating this game.

 

Spiderman now has 2.1

It's a little cleaner and shows a little less artifact's than before. Combined with the overall performance optimizations they made, it's nice

 

Agreed, it looks a whole lot better then before.

 

Scorn has launched with Unreal Engine 4 and FSR2.

In-game it only says "FidelityFX" and has Performance-Balanced-Quality options. It's definitely FSR2, but I don't know if it's 2.1.1.

It does work for nvidia but not for AMD. The game is using the new NVIDIA game SDK, which is used to detect the GPU architecture and check if it's DLSS compatible. Someone needs to make spoofers for the NVIDIA API.

 

FSR 2.1.2 is also out on GPU Open / Github.

 

A little out of topic. Have you experienced color signal defaulting to YCbCr 444 instead of RGB 444 when connected your GPU to the monitor using HDMI port?

 

I'm manually selecting 4:4:4 full RGB on my 1080p120 monitor using DisplayPort on 5700 XT. Works fine.
