I liked FSR 2.0 in Deathloop and consider it garbage in GoW. And unlike you, I can compare it vs. DLSS on my own screen...

No. I just do research on what I buy, before I buy it. Its how I got a 3070 on launch at MSRP; I knew months in advance. If AMD had the superior solution, I would have chosen their card.

 

Getting a 3070 at mspr on launch is a one thing but as it is right now i would not pay this current prices for a 8gb card.

 

I saw no ghosting, motion looked very good.

Maybe depends on GPU? Afaik FSR 2.0 has some RDNA2 specific optimizations.

Massive improvement from FSR 1.0 either way.
But yeah native is always native but I'd gladly use FSR 2.0 Quality.

 

There is massive ghosting with snow particles with FSR 2.0 Quality in 4k all over the place. It's just terrible vs. both the game's own TAAU and DLSS (2.4.3/2.3.9).

Edit: Just to be clear: DLSS pictures are ofc those with higher fps.

Massive trailing of snow particles renders them almost invisible. Massive blurring of distant grasses behind transparent fog. It's basically useless vs. the game's own TAAU that doesn't have both issues.

 

must be a borked preset. really screwed up.

where is that comparison from ? 30 fps from pefromance to ultra performance ? but 9fps from quality to balanced ?

but can fsr 2.0 version be swapped like dlss once it is ?

 

Doesn't look like it, it seems to be shaders etc. inside the regular game files.
It definitely needs to be fixed, imho it was a mistake to even release it with these issues.

updating i.e. metro ee with 2.3.9 was a massive visual upgrade, to iq and reducing ghosting vs original 2.x.x
along with a few extra fps too

looks like fsr 2.0 has one chance and that's it, unless devs keep fixing it

1440p fsr 2.0 lacks a little in detail reconstruction
it's a lot better than 1.0 though

 

Is it possible that FSR 2.0 looks better on AMD cards and DLSS looks better on Nvidia?

FSR 2.0 may look better on a 6000 series RDNA 2 card than it does on a 3000 series Ampere. I'm going to view FSR 2.0 running on both architectures side by side and see if there is a difference.

On my GPU there is better clarity using DLSS in GOW.
