Hello everybody !!! Please help me with my problem :

I own a Vaio EA16 for almost a year now , HD RADEON 5650, i5 2.4 up 2.93 , it was great i could play any game i want with Hight or Medium graphic setting mostly I was playing MAFIA II and NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSIUT (NFSHP) 2010 , this two games was smooth like butter !!! I did'n change anything in my system and one day baaam!!! I found that MAFIA II has somthing like FRAME SKIPPING while moving the character inside a building or driving a car especially if i turn left or right the game jumps like some frames are skipped , i changed the video setting to minumim and i had the same result, and the same thing with th NFSHP !!!!

I've tried everything reinstalling the games , the Drivers , windows recovery , updating windows and drivers !!! everything nothing helped !!

pleaseeeeeee someone tell me what to do !!!!

Good Day and welcome to Guru3D :). Have you checked the temperatures of your cpu , gpu and such ? Use a program like hwmonitor (download here) http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html and report back what temperatures you have while gaming , you can open that program and leave it running while gaming , alt + Tab out of the game and check your temps as it will show current , max and minimum temps recorder. I think you might have an overhating problem in my opinion ,if is overheating problem you need to clean your Sony Vaio laptop inside and out. post back with the temps reported. I hope we can help.

    Regards: Chispy.

Hey Chispy thnks for replay !!!

I've done the test with the most affected game MAFIA 2 and here are the results:

    1- CPU:

    core #0 min=53c , max=77c
    core #2 min=49c , max=77c

    2- GPU:

    Voltage = 0.95
    Temperatures: min=50c , max=68c

I also noticed that older games like TocaRaceDriver 2 (2004) -very old game- are running great !!!! And when I run the benchmark test for MAFIA 2 the FPS results are the same as before !!! I was very happy with my machine before this ...
    :(

You can enable it in the games settings or in the video driver.
Try enabling it in game first, if that doesnt work, enable it in the video driver.

Well we need to root out the problem.

The first thing you need to do is go to here http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=DRIVER

    And do a bios update.

What I've found in google was not helpful I couldn't find this option any where!!

    It's a Vaio laptop model: VPCEA16FG with Win7 Home Premium 64bit

CPU: INTEL core i5-520 with turbo boost 2.4 up to 2.93 , Ati radeon HD 5650 , 500GB HDD

    Is that helpful?

It might be co-incidence that in the games you are playing, you have hit parts that run much slower.
Can you try playing earlier sections of the games and see if they perform well?

    Another thing worth checking:
Install MSI Afterburner and put GPU use on the graph.
Open Task Manager and leave it running.
Play a game for a few minutes where the problem occurs.
Quit the game, now check CPU use and GPU use.

If GPU use hits 99%, you are GPU limited.
If any CPU core gets to 90% occupancy, that can start limiting the gfx card.
Note I said CPU "core" not CPU.

You may be able to monitor gfx memory use with Afterburner, I cant remember if its available.
If it is, graph it and see if it hits 1GB.

Are you running any other software?
