"Found New Hardware" every time I boot...

    Every time I boot, my GTS is re-recognized. WTF?

    Had the same with my x1900xt, i just went ahead with the windows "searching for driver" util , then when it comes up "not found " theres a little tick to stop it searching again.

    Huh, well, I guess I'll try that sometime. Didn't know you could tell it to STFU.

    Didn't work. Tried different drivers, no difference. Other ideas??

    install the driver in Safemode

    K. I'll try that in a bit. Why would that change things?

    because it is possible that something is interfering with proper detection and installation of your driver. Safe mode tends to run a very minimal OS which means that you have a greater chance of avoiding starting up the program or service that was interfering.
