https://hothardware.com/news/forza-motorsport-7-goes-gold-demo-arrives-september-19th "The demo will be available for both Xbox One and PC, with the latter group gaining the ability to adjust performance settings to match the abilities of their gaming rig." An old-school demo. Nice.
Well at they have been pretty good with the Forza stuff on PC. Horizons had a Demo. Forza 6 was free but you're right its still a rare thing and for MS to do it to boot.
Not much of a racing fan, but FM7 looks sick! The engine is superb (the dynamic weather system in particular) and looks to be highly optimized for DX12. The kinks that FH3 suffered from regarding CPU usage should be totally fixed, so it should be very performant on PC.
That seems to be the norm these days. I think Gears of War 4 is 120GB. I uninstalled it a while ago due to a bug with nvidia drivers that cause the gpu to overheat and crash the game. Been an issue for about 6 months with no fix. You can find posts on it over in the Gears official forums. Seems to be unique to the 1080/1070's. I thought my PSU was dying, I made extra air flow, etc. Find out, every other game, even UT Alpha (to use another UE4 based game) run fine and my card extremely cool. It's only specific to Gears (yet Gears runs fine on my 1060 based laptop). Anyways... Final Fantasy 15, I think is going to be 170GB? I need to get a bigger SSD....
Seems it's going to be rough on consoles too at near 100 GB total in terms of file size. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1433860 50 GB mandatory update really should have warranted having a second disc for the game. (Though I guess on PC via UWP it will be a 100 GB download straight, yay, and it's via the WIn10Store downloaded too at that.)
This is too much to download for a demo, also I've removed everything store related from W10 inc. Store so... yeah
I know what you mean, I only buy my games through Steam and I would never dream of buying anything through Spyware 10 store.
yeah, i mean the reason why I removed all the app junk from W10 is because W10 chose after ~1min of afk would force those "apps" open in the BG running and trying to send data. And I mean beyond just the dozen OS integrated telemetry type constant uploads, those apps were doing it too, who knows to what end. Anyway it's all gone now, might consider something like an alt W10 instal for store games if they ever get their stuff sorted and working proper.
Soon we will see what it takes to run forza 7 in 4K60fps. XboxX runs forza 7 in 4K60fps so I'm expecting great performance on PC.
It would be nice if you could pre-load the demo, but unlike Steam i actually get good download speeds from the store so hopefully it shouldn't be an issue for me download wise. I do only have a 256gb SSD and never install games on anything other than the OS drive, but i only play 1-2 games at time so storage wise i should be fine, even if i have just grabbed PES and Fifa18 demos as well.
A 100 GB download on any digital platform other than Steam would have me worried but when it's exclusive to the Microsoft Store, the most cumbersome, sluggish and downright clunky digital platform to date? Well, let's say I'm not expecting it to go flawlessly! I suspect that downloading this game will be a nightmare on PC... I'm mentally preparing myself for the worst... that way I can't be disappointed!
i will not bother myself with this if its that big, my ssd is 256gb and its too much place taken, i need for bf1.
