For me the year nigle mansell was world champion in the Williams was boring and for year's after, the tv director manly stayed on the leader.
Only the mercs are more dominant than that Williams of 92, or the late 80s turbocharged Mclarens or the 2001-2002 Ferrari's. Probably more dominant than all 3 combined
I enjoyed this race...a hectic start, constant pressure, overtaking, wheelbanging/collisions and even Vettel winning was fun for a change. Red Bull can quit blaming Renault as they finished behind the two Toro Rosso rookies lol. No finish for the McLarens but at least they felt competitive.
I have tried to get into F1 but it always seems the first few laps are good and then seems like a boring wait till the finish and just seeing if the leaders car will last as the only excitement.
I found it interesting that first words coming out of wolfs mouth and then hamilton had to do with equalization and how this ties to them "failing" to win this race even tho they were again 1 sec faster on their flatout 2nd half of the race. 1 race sandbagging to maintain their season or multiseason long even advantage maybe? :eyebrows:
you have to look at what tires Ferrari and Mercedes were on and how much they were forced to push. It's clear Ferrari were faster today. Had they both had to push all the way, Ferrari would still have won. Now that being said, it was a very hot race so other races might be different. I'm still excited about the prospect of Mercedes having some competition this year. Had it not been for Raikkonen's puncture early on, Ferrari would have had a one two.
..just saying, I couldn't help but keep thinking that the whole race. I guess it didn't help that I was actually expecting mercedes to do it prior to the weekend (and i regret not having posted that here before Saturday) to calm down the overwhelmingly negative atmosphere. Don't forget Bernie even confirmed he was thinking about making changes, which couldnt have gone unnoticed by ze germans.. Friday run, ferrari were only just barely managing to outpace the merc at very end of the stint, the merc was still significantly faster over the first 2/3rds of each stint. Maybe temps @63 compared to ffridays 58 made that big a diff and the Mercs lost some more.. Oh well, china will show how much of a one offf this was
Yeah that must have hurt. Mercedes needs to drop some downforce in favour of straight line speed. Their speed trap numbers were awful in both Melbourne and Malaysia.
I can safely say at this point that the fake sparks were a nice idea fot TV flair but they've gone waaaaay over the top with it.
KIMI!!! Good race, all the Ferrari overtaking Rosberg did counted for nothing in the end, shame the race didn't go for 3-4 more laps, Kimster would have won. I'm liking how Ferrari are close to Mercedes this year.
