There is one reason, and one reason alone I use Firefox over any other browser, no matter how fast or flashy it might be (no pun intended there).

    ADBLOCK PLUS!

The single greatest addon ever created. nothing for IE comes close.

    End of.

    BLEH!

I was with you.....Till last week. After loads of problems trying to get youtube videos to play properly in FF4.... I tried out Chrome and discovered there is adblock plus for Chrome, it works exactly the same with all the same block lists.

Since FF4 and Chrome look pretty much the same I've found that I've lost nothing with the switch.
However I have gained some things, it's a little less (no) work to update, flash is built in and auto-updates, auto backup/sync to my google account, faster loading of the application (pages have the same loading speed.. maybe a tad slower with loads of embedded videos).. and a bit more stability.

One thing about FF4 that really annoys me is its undying desire to utilize the discrete GPU in Macbook Pros. This really kills battery life, Mozilla...I don't need a 6750M to check my Facebook.

Uninstalled FF using IE alone. Works fine.

I did that a few days ago- it still kicks on the 6750. :3eyes: Someone reported it to Mozilla at least- I clicked the 'I have this issue' button they have on their site, and apparently 100+ others had done the same. Here's to hoping it gets addressed.

IE9 has ADBLOCK PLUS too people, wake up!!!! Its called TRACKING PROTECTION  you can kiss Firefox goodbye.

Here is how you can activate it, so far IE9 works like a rocket:

    1. In IE9, Click on TOOLS
    2. Click on TRACKING PROTECTION
    3. Click on "Get a Tracking Protection List Online"
    4. You will have a huge list of apps to ADD from there:
    My preferred on is :
    EasyList Standard Tracking Protection List
    https://easylist.adblockplus.org/en/
    5. Click ADD
    6. Restart IE9

And voila.. IE9 blocks all Ads and its actually even faster now :D

Adblock plus not the only reason people use Firefox, Firefox is highly customizable unlike IE and unlike IE Firefox is no where as bugg as IE, I have more webpages not show right in IE then I do FF and I barely use IE

It's useful, but I find Chrome is just better overall. And ads never bothered me much anyway.

Nvmd found it, although it definitely doesn't block all ads.

Yep, thats the main reason I use FF, configurability. IE and Chrome are miles behind in that regard. I want a browser to act and behave exactly they way I want it to, and FF comes closest to offering that for me.

maybe i went a bit fast, before, IE3 is in top 3 while Opera and Chrome come in a tie.

    with my system:
    #1 Opera
    #2 Chrome
    #3 IE9
    #4 Firefox 4.0

IE is one of the first MS apps I uninstall in a fresh install.
I don't like my browser telling me how to configure security settings, and then nagging constantly if it disagrees with my choices (your security settings put you at risk)

I don't mind FF, history tab could have more than 5 or ten sites tho, prefer Minefield but flash is unstable.
