Received from Alienware with my quad-SLI rig I just received.

I probably would not have leaked these, but their refusal to send a driver that actually works worth a **** on my rig (and the statement that I may have to wait 2 months for a new driver that will support the GX2) was more than enough motivation to leak em out.

I'm downloading now and i'll see what i can do

oh and how is that Quad SLI working out for you?
I was under the impression that it was severly bandwidth limited as it's quite low memory clocks due to heat and stability issues and throw in the fact that SLI is never 100% efficient and it seems to be a bit of a mess and not to mention expensive as all hell

The increases I saw in benchmarks will never be noticed in any game (5-10% at best).

THe only true advantage of Quad-SLI is the ability to run maximum detail at extremely high resolutions.

So do I need it? Probably not. But I paid the huge premium for it anyway.

As to current working.....well, bottom line, it really does kinda suck horribly right now....anything really new (ie Oblivion) freezes up every few minutes, making it all but unplayable. But damn does it look great when its working :)

I know as an early adopter to expect glitches/etc, but I'm extremely displeased at nVidia's driver hell for these Quad setups. One would expect, when shelling out damn near $2000 on GFX cards alone, that they'd have proper driver support out there at launch, not 2+ months later. As far as I'm concerned, while the Quad-SLI is nice and all, I feel duped by this so-called "hard launch" and will be sharing my displeasure with the corp execs at nVidia directly.

Edit: Oh, and as to clock speeds/etc.....yes, Quad SLI cards (the 7900GX2 specifically) are clocked slower than their non-quad able counterparts, however in my specific case I can get a really solid stable overclock near non-Quad rates (and for the record, this isn't my problem with Oblivion as the same problem is realized overclocked or not - its pure driver) as my full rig is water-cooled. Heat is the major factor for the slower speeds, but I've got heat disapation covered :)

But why didn't you buy ATI and enjoy some AA+HDR? Cause AA is horrible in Oblivion... Even at 1280x1024.

    Ok here's the modded Inf

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TY1TW83P

See if this works for you guys! Working nicely for me here. didn't use the setup.exe to update the drivers just did the right click on my computer> manage > and then right clicked on my Graphics card in the device manager.

Let me know if this works for you all!

I didn't try it as i never use those to install drivers as i've had my system get messed up from one trying toforce install a driver for my card that wasn't supported by the INF.

Hence why i do it manually so i can check my card is supported first. But it should work fine

I'll take a look at the inf to see if you missed anything. :D

EDIT: Took a quick look at the inf and it looks fine. Though I have a much longer list of device id's in my infs. Still, you added the most commonly used ones so I will not make an inf unless someone asks for it.

Anyone tried those yet on a non-sli rig?
