Uhmm, quite new about this refresh rate. So are you saying a flat monitor in 60hz is better than 75hz ?

Well, I use 75hz so far, but if it's proven that 60hz is better, I'll switch right away...

If you're seeing the old control panel and have Microsoft .NET installed (get the newest version here; the version linked to previously in this thread is outdated), note that if you try to access it in the traditional way by going to desktop properties, advanced, etc, you'll simply get the old one.

For the new control panel, you need to right-click on your desktop and simply press "NVIDIA Control Panel".

I checked out the new CP, and yes its pretty, but it takes longer to get where you want to go. Its nice for the first time user who may not know his/her way around the old CP, but its laggy, and takes more mouse clicks then is necissary IMO.

on tft you should use 60hz. No point in using above 60hz.. It's kinda like when the tft has to scale resolution to fit screen, this time it just has to scale down the refreshrate to 60hz. you wont see any improvements but rumor has it that 75hz is bad for the convertor-chip in the tft..

In CRT-terms (laymans): you take a CRT with a max of 100hz. You mount a chip on it that supports 120hz but scales down to 100hz. The you feed the CRT with 120hz. Well there is no point in feeding it 120hz...

These are pretty decent drivers. Lost a few points, but the IQ is definately much better than 84.25. WoW, CS:S, and Guildwars all run great. I will keep these over 84.25. Now I have to test the 84.43s later tonight.

    3dmark05
    84.25 5509
    84.30 5505

    CS:S Stress Test
    84.25 93fps
    84.30 92.71fps

    Hi,

These drivers are much better IMHO than 84.25 for Oblivion - IQ is better and the rendering speed too.

    Great Job. :dave:
