In CS:S shadows sometimes disappear. at least with me they do, specially since the last update. Doesn't seem to be related to the video card drivers. Me thinks...

even player shadows ? all other shadows work except player one's ...

edit: i think i figured out the problem. it seems to be a FRAPS issue.

fraps wont even showup in DOD:S. that got me suspicious so i turned FRAPS off and my shadows returned in CS:S

Btw, on my system every CAD/CAM application that uses hardware acceleration locks up for a few seconds, goes normaly for about 1 second then locks up again, over and over. I think it's the same thing hapenning with CMR2005 and NFSU2.

Back to a previous crap version...

Abilio_KID, try disabling any adaptive degredation that may be enabled in those applications.

    I tried these drivers & also 78.05
both these are very unstable when running oced video card
    see my setup---------->
77.77 is the best so far also much better fps.

Try not to oc, use the default gpu/ram clock with 81.84 or any 8xxx series drivers!

The extra speed/performance you gain from 81.84 would probadly close to if not the same with 77.77 OC but with better IQ without performance hits :p

Or as I noticed, stick to your current Astrick Astrick 81.82.v2 would be just fine!

In fact, those drivers from 78.05, 81.82 and 81.84 already has great performance improvement over 77.77 with incrediable IQ!

Some called thema miracle driver in term of performance from 7xxx series driver!;)

Strange these drivers overclock just as well as the 77.77 for me. Both 436mhz and 1152mhz.

The 81.84 is also the first driver that lets me run stably at 80 mhz AGP frequency and 1000 HTT. (250 x4)

    The 77.77 and 81.82 i either had to run at 750 HTT (250 x 3) and 80mhz or 1000HTT and 66 mhz AGP frequency.

sideeffect, you don't really want to raise the agp frequency.

    its safe Maz_D

his mobo allows locking of the pci clock so it won't stuf up ide bus transfers

theres an issue with source shadows atm since the last update,

theres no shadows on italy, cbble and a few custom maps.

this could be the problem here?

Yes my motherboard has locks. :D

Also 80 mhz AGP is faster than 66 all games bench higher. Card overclocks better as well.

You're pretty small minded. The only thing you you're contributing when we're talking about Source based games is: Source sucks! Period!

Get a life and get a decent rig if it doesn't work on yours ok? Getting sick of those flaming posts.

Everything's working fine here, also shadows with source games. People are just having different setups and sometimes that would be bad with these drivers.

just make sure to bump the agp voltage up a notch

    these drivers are awesome!

I used them with BF2, Fear MultiDemo, and Chron. of Riddick and never has either three of them look so good!

Awesome IQ, and performance is slightly better not much though, but the IQ is awesome.
