Don't try to use low-level fan control if you don't see any difference between driver-level and low-level fan control ways and don't understand that your system is NOT supposed to work with low-level fan control due to lack of external fan controller chip. Everything that is supposed to work works properly.

Win XP Pro 32 bit: It seems Riva Tuner 2.11 doesn't lower the fan speed with 180.42 automatically. Launching lower speed from systray works. Great drivers though. A little increase in artificial test 3DMark 06. DV is working.

I have a problem with the aspect ratio thingy.

Options is greyed out here ???

    I have a 22" widescreen.
For example when I run 3DMark06 my screen is stretched because I can't choose nVidia scaling in the options.

Oh well... its a good thing most new games is coming with 1680x1050 resolution :D

I tried these last night and promptly went back to 178.24 after finding some textures appeared very low res in Crysis - blocky. Also, performance seemed worse, often hitching. Saw the same low res textures in Hell's Highway, for example on sand bags although performance seemed ok there.
I don't benchmark but for games it got the thumbs down for me.

Well most things are not what they should be in the beginning, here are some examples: DirectX8, DirectX9, Directx9b, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Kaspersky AntiVirus, Office 2007, etc. etc. EVERYTHING has its drawbacks in the beginning. Everything.

But yes it is nice that finally DX10 is starting to work as expected? Farcry2 seems to take good advantage of DX10.1 on the ATI cards as well?

I have texture flickering problems with rainbowsix vegas 2. specifically in export/import level in terrorist hunts... it only happens in some view angle though...

never had this problems prior to this version...
    or is it just me?

Sorry guys, I have a question for you: I'd like to know if the automatic fan control is working fine with 180.42. My GTX260 is oc'ed and since I can't manually control the fan speed, I'm worried about the drivers that don't increase the RPM of the fan when the temperature rises... Can you confirm that this feature works? Or the fan remains @ 40% even with higher temperatures?
    Thanks in advance.

    I noticed flickering in BF2 PR that I didn't have in 178.15
(Have had it in previous drivers though).

Should you uninstall your present driver first before installing 180.42?
    Thanks

In the past I've just did an install over the older driver without any problems.

Any way to make the low level fan control to adjust both graphics cards fan rpm?

I got it working flawless on the lead card but doesn't seem to affect the 2nd one, wich isn't that odd since it isn't driver controlled.. But still having one card on 47 degrees idle and the other on 59 degrees is abit Oo

Anyone at all who can control fans on 2x gfx cards during SLI with RT under 180.40?

When I start Far Cry 2 using this driver, all the happpens is that I get a small window with no content (black) and I can hear the sounds from the game.

I went back to 178.24 and the game works.

That's one of the reasons I've yet to make the change "loss of fan control" via EVGA Precision or with NIVIDA Tool.

I know that if you don't want to lose performance and have strange issues, you have to uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones...

Anyway, can someone answer my question in the previous page, please?

Could it be because you have 'FRAPS' running in the background?
Try disabling it first before ya run FC2.

got an extra 1500 points in vantage!, from 4550 to 6102....
how is that possible?? i did noticed that in the lil plane test it ran ALOT faster that usual, am guessing it has something to do with the Nvidia PhysX?? anyways

got around the same score in 3dmark06 just lil over 10000. nice Nvidia!
