Funny that there is the "nvidia performance driver.exe" included. I've only seen this in the qaudro installers. Something tells me Nvidia just tweaked the stable qaudro drivers for the geforce cards

I replaced the quadro drivers with these and all is fine so far with XP sp3 9800gtx+

Governator it works with my other card while I'm in SLI. My main card has a 3rd party cooler any way. But it does work with my second card. You have ot select the card from the drop down menu then go to the low level fan control for that card that is selected.

lol - That's why it's called BETA driver - there will be other changes before the FINAL gets released - so when using beta drivers it is to be expected :)

Drivers crash Vantage on the 2nd CPU test (physx). Anyone else get this?

Fine in everything else I've tried.

The Vantage scores for GTX280 and 180.42 is even better then 180.10, and are pretty respectable now, working pretty good in COD4 aswell... No issues found so far, and P14859 overall score in Vantage with a 12135 GPU score and 45492 CPU/PhysX score is a personal best so far, and close to a 1000points better then latest official in the overall score..

I'm going to try these on my gaming machine, its using Vista32bit but without PhysX.... I just don't play anything currently to need it.

This pretty much goes back to my anger towards Nvidia by packing the damn drivers with the PhysX software instead of giving you the option to download it alone or not.

Uninstalled 178.15 x64, "nTune" 6.02 (nSysTools), Physix and used Driver Sweeper. Installed 180.42, rebooted, then installed nTune 6.03. After another reboot, Vista couldn't find my USB keyboard, until I rebooted again (!!!). Then it was okay after that reboot. Set up everything for SLI enabled and both monitors. It works, sorta. The second monitor is a Panasonic plasma and I only get the Windows background and nothing else. The resolutions are correct for each monitor (1600x1200 and 1366x 768) This problem looks awfully familiar, like I've seen this before when Dualview and Clone were still a driver options. If I switch to the plasma as the main SLI monitor, it works fine and the PC monitor just shows the background.

nVidia almost has it right and with a pair of cheap 9800GT in SLI, no less. BTW, fan speed control works for me in the nVidia Control Panel and with Riva Tuner. Another few 180.xx betas and they will get the bugs ironed out.

Got a BSOD with TDU, GTR2,GTL had audio issues in SLI, went from 90 fps to 25, COD2 and COD4 was O.K., had SLI issues with F.E.A.R. ,but with issues in TDU uninstalled and went back 178.24 and all is well, again. Nvidia needs to trim the fat and stop adding **** you don't need or at least give you the option of not installing Bloatware. :3eyes:

At least they finally fixed DV, but I'll have a wait and see until then.

Why can't I get 'low-level system tweaks' for fan control on my 9800 GTX?
Even though I have enabled Power User settings "enable fan control - value 3", the low-level system settings button is not showing up on main tab!
I used to do that on my old 8800 GTS and haven't installed RT since I bought the 9800...
Is any other 9800 owner currently able to use it? I'm using Riva Tuner 2.11, and of course, 180.42. Thanks in advance for any help!

EDIT: My question above was answered later: 9800 GTX is not passive of low-level fan control, so I'll have to go back to previous or wait for the next WHQL, but despite the fan issue, the driver is great on DMC4, PES2009 and BIA:HH (only games I have currently installed, I don't do any benchmarking on vantage 3dmark, etc...)

It works in XP but the only bug I've found yet is that if you change the digital vibrancy settings it looks like the image sharpening went up to high and the only way to fix that is to open the display optimization wizard.

The best driver for Vantage so far on my system :) A little comparison:

    178.15 (12200): [IMG] 178.24 (12067): [IMG] 180.10 (12219): [IMG] и 180.42 (12460): [IMG]

Comparison With PhysX between my favorite 178.15 for now and new 180.42:
    178.15 (15433) [IMG] 180.10 (PhysX not working ) и 180.42 (15889) [IMG]

In Crysis there is no increase:
    178.15 (38.11 avg) [IMG] 178.24 (37.34 avg) [IMG] и 180.42 (36.60 avg) [IMG]

Well I'll be darned, sure 'nuf it does work this way! Claymore, you've made my day, and I'll just say I never paid much mind to that drop down as it's always worked without messing with it for both cards up to this point. I'm sure RT will come out with an update perhaps and I feel like a :boob: for not discovering this earlier :bonk:
