I wonder if the 5th of Aug. is really going to be a release date or just speculation?

I'm kinda hoping not. Or, if they do release, they release 177.80 drivers. The 177.79 drivers completely mangle City of Heroes under Vista and the tech forums there are already getting a few threads about it. If the drivers are made official then there will be a lot more threads.

no physx for g80 but all newer card ...

physx have nothing to do with the driver it self .. its from the physx driver ... all driver after 177.39 support physx for g80 but the physx driver does not support older card, so if a new physx driver is out .. maybe 5.th aug. physx work with older cards .. or nvidia will the cuda/physx driver integrate in the forceware .. thats it ...

Dunno could be intergrated to the gpu driver, but then again also to the physX, first one seem more logic cause it has to "run, the physx" :)

Anyways i think this is the driver that is sitting @ MS office now waiting to get WHQL signed :p:p

Getting whql or not have nothing to do with performance. It is still the same driver but with a certificate. Not more. If you have the beta driver you dont need to update it. Waiting for 180 driver on sept. with Opengl 3.0, gpu h264 decoding support and many more .... (maybe big bang II ?) i hope :)

I dont care about the physx "driver"

Nvidia Must realease an updated Physx Software install.

As the current only supports 2 Apps....

The 177.79's are their WHQL drivers they are going to release on the 5th, your already running them now if your on the candidates, as the candidates are the drivers microsoft have, the only change from WHQL candidates and full WHQL is, when you go to install the drivers, they will not say they are unsigned, that is all. :)
