Then post your registry as asked and maybe you can help others achieve PhysX creaminess

All the drivers after 174. something are totally BS, everyone crashed sooner or later and usually sooner(I have two 8800 oc ultras sli), what the f... is going on with nvidia. The only drivers 174.85 beta works perfectly, after that none at all.

If they want us not to buy their videocards I think they are getting near that goal. I am very pissed off nowadays they quality drivers.

    Try doing a clean install.

    Unistall current
    Restart into safe mode
    Run driver sweeper
    Restart
    Install new drivers

I have 177.41 on my system no problems

Hmmm.....I was playing Men of Valor today and about 10 minutes in the game freezes...says "nvidia display driver has stopped responding"....and black screens me until I reboot (all colors 4 bit during this whole ordeal).

I know its an old game but is it the new 177.41 problems or the game?

hy guys, never used to ask without searchin for the answer, but this is an emergency :D
I installed the 177.41 drivers a "long time ago" and now i can't activate TV OUT. (S-video, I activate DualView, click Apply, Yes on Save Changes and it's jumping back to Single and no signal on S-Video cable)
ennyone has this problem, and is there a solution for it, or do I have to roll back to 177.39?
ohh, my video card is a 8800 GTS 640MB(G80).
    thanks

    Hi @all,

i've just installed Vista Ultimate x64. Now i've the same problem as with 177.39 on XP32 - the menus in the control panel are all in english language (normally no problem) after installation and reboot but i would be better in my own language (german).
So i need a modified inf that "enables" the german menu...

    regards,

This is a very well known problem and it has an entire thread devoted to it in this same section http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=229865

I would recommend the 175.16 for you, the .19's have issues for some.

As for the 177.41's, they work fine on Vista with my cards.

    Thanks for the link....

but I'm running XP 32-bit not Vista and to be honest I think this problem has been occuring much more frequently with that game since I installed modded inf 177.41...any fix for XP? and mine doesn't really say recovered or recover either ;)

Oh, I didn't realize you had XP. Give the 175.16's a try and see if they give you the same error. The one I mentioned is a Vista error fashioned by the hand of Satan.

No worries probably should have said that earlier. Running the 175.16's the game doesn't lock nearly as much....and the one time it did I was able to minimize....and bring back up and everything was smooth again. I'm hoping its just the combination of the game and the drivers...I played other games with no lockups....(probably should play a lot longer on other games like I did for Men of Valor ;) ).

As for the Physx...I installed ghost recon 2 which was supports physx (in fact only with a physx card will the game detail be allowed to go to "high").....Maybe its the game that needs a dedicated card but the option for "high" was still greyed out after 177.41 and yes in the tab for Physx 8.03 It says Ge-Force Enabled is selected. (but on main page says "no Physx processor"). Perhaps this is why ghost recon 2 doesn't try to let me do physx....it sees only the front page of Physx

I haven't run run 3dMark with different drivers, so I'm not sure as to the improvement.

    Hello everyone :)

Hmm just tried these drivers to get PhysX working..which I think I did. Installed the UT3 PhysX mod and was playing the maps with the Hardware option enabled. Got average FPS..and on the tornado level, it got stuck at 10FPS for a while and was quite glitchy.

    My Registry: [IMG]

Did some Crysis tests as well..v1.1.

With 175.16 drivers (before uninstalling and moving to new ones)
    And then with 177.41:
Not too promising at all :bang:

Only thing is..I downloaded the 177.41 drivers off the Nvidia site, which are different to the ones hosted here..36.5 mb vs 70mb or something. I then used the nv4_disp file for XP 32-bit in this thread, and when installing, it came up with a few errors saying it couldn't find a few files.. something like nvdispsr.dll. Did a Google and found that it just means it didn't come with the driver, so not needed.

Pretty sure I did everything right..so not sure what went wrong.

Oh and I found this at the top of the benchmark_gpu.log:

How on earth did I manage that?!?

    Sorry for long post :p
