    Okay so everything was going fine, and then last night I got a Nvlddmkm stopped responding error - first time in nearly a YEAR :( I'm now back to 175.19

    These drivers are working great for me. Best out of the 177 series so far.

    Good performance, no more stutter, and improved stability in the games I am playing. (mass effect, oblivion, COD 4, GRID)

    Couple of older games (eg. freelancer) seem to be missing resolutions which were supported in 175.xx, but I got around it in most cases by editing the games config files.

    Physx support is now enabled and working fine in the demos on my 8800GT (G92), too. But it isn't much more than a toy until games start actually using it.

    I've read the whole of this thread and many others. Every single one says I've installed the drivers and they are wokring fine for me. No G80 (eg 8800GTX) person has said I have PhysX working with the proof of the nVidia PhysX window and expecially on XP x64.
    My system is next this post and I'm SLi. The drivers are in and working and have been for almost a week. Little faster in CSS and never drop now in Crysis and 3DMark06 is consistent now not varying by +/- 20. PhysX is in and I can run the simulations.
    Can I get that Geforce PhysX box to ungray so I can select it? NO! :bang:

    Help me, I know nVidia built support into my cards otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded. I just cannot get the PhysX program to recognise my cards.

    Great drivers apart from Dawn of War: Winter Assault suffers from texture corruption shortly after loading into the 2nd level (ultramarines cut-scene and gameplay).

    Grid also crashes if I change any settings like resolution or aa but runs fine otherwise (steam version).

    Crysis, Cod4, CSS, HLDM, PES 08 work fine.

    Death track ressurection demo runs crap above 1280x1024.

    Physx Disable Tool

    There is a tool available to disable/enable Nvidia Physx in the GURU3D download section. Small, simple and works perfectly.

    EDIT: oops misunderstood your meaning, thought you were trying to disable it.

    Plus its for Vista 32bit which I is the wrong bit and OS. Given I have XP x64 as per other post.
    I have tried the program though just in case.

    It just doesn't recognise my 8800GTX (or other people I know with G80 cards).

    175.19 = 3DMark 05 - 13386
    175.19 = 3DMark 06 - 9324

    177.41 = 3DMark 05 - 14004
    177.41 = 3DMark 06 - 9676

    Been there, done that. Nothing there to help the situation.

    Here however, there are people who understand the registry entries within the installed and perhaps can track down the activation pathway for making G80 cards work.
    This is my aim and current tinkering annoyance. Like minded people on THIS thread have said about their attempts to fix certain errors with success. I am also doing that.

    Ok so I've been doing some poking and I'd like to gain some information from you all that HAVE PhysX working as proved by the nVidia PhysX control panel.

    Go to your registry editor (Start - Run - regedit - OK)
    Go to here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ageia Technologies
    Above works for XP x64 not sure where it will be for other OSs but it will be in the software part. If you have different and find the right place can you post the path and i will edit the above bit.
    Then could you show a screenshot or type out the values for each entry.
    I believe there may be something in here that may solve why G80 has not been activated but without more data I cannot know a thing and certainly not get help.

    Mine has:
    (Default) - REG_SZ - (value not set)
    CPanelDoc - REG_SZ - NVIDIA_PhysX_Help.mht
    CudaDeviceOrdinal - REG_DWORD - 0xffffffff (4294967295)
    HwSelection - REG_SZ -
    PhysX BuildCL - REG_DWORD - 0x00000000 (0)
    PhysX Version - REG_DWORD - 0x00013ae4 (80612)
    PhysXCore Path - REG_SZ - C:\Program Files (x86)\Ageia Technologies

    the only difference i can see is that it changes the hardware selection entry to gpu instead of it being blank i have tried altering it and it seems to be at driver level not at the registry level for g80 cards sorry guys. im still looking through the drivers but as of yet still havent found anything will let you know if i find anything.

    You are wuite correct the HWS goes to GPU but I have this on many forums.
    I'm collecting the data to do a giant thread on it for those that are able.
