Your welcome, dude. You may want to try the latest version (174.70) as that one already supports the 78GTX and is on par w/ 174.53 (all the 174 series drivers are pretty much equal, performance-wise). I'm currently using it on my 78GS.

I tried them and they work fine. I see 2fps increase playing cod4 on my 512 7800gtx in SLI

YES! Thank you for the modded inf on 174.70 :)
I got a nice performance boost in Frontline Fuel of War and in Conflict Denied compared to 169.21.
This is indeed the first version of the 174.xx that runs fine on my XP-system. Thumbs up!! :)
(Actually I am not using Vista much these days, as it is getting slower and slower, and I don't have time to reinstall it right now)

Your welcome, dude but 174.70 needs no INF mod as the original already supports all cards.

And a bump for another leaked International beta v174.74 dated 03/24/2008. Like 174.70, this one needs no INF mod as the original already supports all cards GF 5-9. I've created an English version as well.

Edit: this driver is now an offical beta. The INF date is the same as the leaked version. Besides the splash screen bitmap, the other difference is that the official version contains the "Portal" marketing stuff that's been included in all official releases as of late:

    XP32 English: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_174.74.html

    XP32 International: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_174.74_uk.html

174.12 (originally leaked by Electronic Punk) and 174.31 (from Dell) have been obtained from mobilenv at laptopvid. The rest are either from the leaker at xFastest or from nv itself. mobilenv also has modified INFs for all the 174 series leaks, but I would'nt use them because they have a ton of questionable tweaks and mobile-related entries.

Well, it looks like NV will now be supporting all cards again in the latest ForceWare so my work is done. I'll continue to mod mobile-only leaks or provide English-only versions when needed.

Bump for 174.82. This International beta was released by Sager Notebooks and supports mobile GPUs only. I have removed all mobile-related and International-related entries and files and added all 174.74 DeviceIDs to support all cards.

Edit: Someone in another forum requested the International version of this driver so I thought I'd post it here as well if anyone needs it:

One more update today: I've added 174.33 dated 03/05/2008 to the list. This is another mobile-only International driver and was originally WHQL. It's a couple weeks newer than 174.31. I've given it the same treatment as the other drivers of this type. So I think I've got all the 174.xx XP32 drivers to date now. If anyone knows of any I've missed, post it.

174.24 have been working great for me. are the drivers after them any better, in you opinion?

174.74 work very well for 8800GT owners. You should give them a try.

174.74 seems to be a good one for 8800GT according to this thread: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=258494

But if you play Crysis, you may get better results w/ 174.70 (according to the guy that does the nice graph -> check randfee's post on page 1 of this thread). The latest driver (174.82), seems to have broken SLI according to FrenchKiss so I would avoid it if you SLI.

Ive been using the official betas of 174.74 for a few days now, so far so good! oblivion works well (after editing the profile for forced AA) and CoD4 seems very stable.

    Keepers for me :)

There are 3 versions of 174.74 floating out there:

    1) 174.74 beta leaked by "xFastest": has an "xFastest" splash screen, no "Portal", supports all cards GF 5-9

    2) 174.74 beta from nv: has an "nvidia" splash screen, has "Portal", supports all cards GF 5-9

    3) 174.74 WHQL from nv: has an "nvidia" splash screen, has "Portal", supports only GF 9 and a couple integrated GPUs

Other then that, all 3 are the exact same driver w/ the same INF timestamp. Even the files are the same size and date.
