    As stated in my first post, this driver natively supports virtually every desktop GPU from GeForce 5-9. Virtually every laptop GPU is supported via dozens of OEM INFs included.

    If you download from laptopvid, the OEM INFs are located in a zip file called "Original _INF(s).zip". If you have a laptop GPU, then one of those INFs will work for you. If you have a desktop GPU, then the original "nv4_disp.inf" (not zipped) is all that you need.

    There is no need to use the separate modified INF because all it does is combine all the desktop GPUs and laptop GPUs into a single INF. And mobilenv adds a ton of tweaks that you may or may not agree with:

    Just installed the drivers and tested them with DiRT, UT3 and Crysis.
    All games run slightly smoother compared to 174.53 WHQL and IQ is great like with all 174 series drivers. Also noticed that the reload stutter in Crysis decreased. Keepers!

    First of all, thx F_L_C for this thread / upload. I particulary appreciate your work around here ^^

    Can you tell us which OS u are using? Cuz ppl seem to have some prob with SLI under Vista x64 but I use WinXP x32 :)
    According to you (or anyone else), shall I give them a try? 174.70 runs great ^^

    I'll install these later today. But first I'm gonna try to "destroy" my 174.60 drivers/install by oc'ing core clock just a tad more, so I get driver responding error in games (and previously after having errors, all hell break loose, it's almost like gpu doesn't get the required volts)
    174.60 have worked perfectly for me, played CSS, R6Vegas, Serious Sam2, UT3, GoW, Shadowrun, Dirt, BF2/2142, CoD4, Crysis and 3DM06, no errors or artifacts even.
    I start wondering if these betas/modded files contain proper uninstall info, maybe that's why ppl get SO different results. Anyways, I've never even once ran driver cleaners, but with 17x.xx series I learned I MUST uninstall and install in SAFE MODE (when driver is installed, your desktop is still as before uninstall - don't have to move around all icons)

    Here are some Crysis benchmarks. I used the HardwareOC Crysis Benchmark v1.1.1 with regular Crytek GPU bench.

    WinXP x32 SP3 3300, Crysis Retail 1.2.1, dx9 with very high tweaks (from all over the Internet + my personal modifications, so you can't really compare to your system ^^)

    Resolution: 1920×1200 (HD WideScreen)

    Driver version: 6.14.0011.7474 (English)
    Result: Minimum= 20.72 FPS Average= 27.32 FPS Max= 38.06 FPS

    Driver version: 6.14.0011.7470 (English)
    Result: Minimum= 21.76 FPS Average= 27.31 FPS Max= 38.92 FPS

    Driver version: 6.14.0011.7460 (English)
    Result: Minimum= 21.68 FPS Average= 27.28 FPS Max= 38.66 FPS

    Driver version: 6.14.0011.7453 (English)
    Result: Minimum= 21.80 FPS Average= 27.29 FPS Max= 38.87 FPS

    Driver version: 6.14.0011.7440 (English)
    Result: Minimum= 21.44 FPS Average= 27.25 FPS Max= 38.31 FPS

    The average is the same but mini and maxi are a bit slower than usual. Since I don't play Crysis anymore, I don't care lol. But it can be useful for someone else maybe :)

    I'm going to test more games now.

    Tried these .. same as the 174.70's for me ... everything inc. purevideo works fine ..

    Those official betas and the chinese drivers are the same stuff I bet. Except the funky logo which pops up when starting the setup :p

    174.74's working good on my laptop SLI config either in Dx9/Dx10.

    3DMark06 a little lower than 174.70. 8742 > 8690...

    keeping it as i don't care about 52 less points :D

    I just looked at the files of the official version (XP32) and it's got the same date as the leaked version. The difference would be that the official includes the "Portal" marketing stuff that's been included in all official drivers as of late. And the logo (splash screen bitmap). Otherwise it's the same driver.

    If I'm not mistaken that is a mobile GPU. I find it hard to believe that out of 40+ OEM INFs included not one contains your DeviceID.

    Hello and welcome to the forums, no it's not only for laptops..this driver supports almost every geforce card out there (geforce 5-9 under xp and geforce 6-9 under vista). And you can get them from nzone too as nvidia have released them not so long ago.

    I'm still have the same battlefield 2 problem with this drivers just like with the 174.70.


    This was my post in that topic.

    I have a problem with these drivers. Everything seems to run smooth and better in every game and i really believed they were keepers. But then I wanted to play bf2 and then when i start the game my computer crashes completely. I have to shut the computer down via the power button.

    The game crashes Immediately on start up, the screen flickers 2 times (this is just the screen going from 120hz to a lower hertz) and then when when the EA games icon is popping up it freezes.

    When I uninstall the drivers and install the 163.76 drivers or the 169.21 the game works but the 169.21 drivers are really crappy and the 163.76 are not as smooth as the 174.70.

    Does anyone have a solution to my problem with bf2?

    My specs.

    Nvidia xfx 8800gts 320mb
    intel e8200 2.66ghz
    4gb ddr2 800mhz
    power supply: 650w
    On xp x64


    This same exact same problem exists with the 174.74. Does anyone have a solution?
