I've just tested them with Counter-Strike: Source's Stress Test, and after three runs I can safely say that I've lost five FPS when compared to my previous drivers, the 171.23's.

However loosing five FPS when you've already got 289.34 is nothing short of ridiculously negligible. I still haven't tested other games, but I've gained 14 points in 3DMark06.

Hmmm, installed these with no problem but COD4 crashed and then I got the BSOD which I haven't seen in a really long time, lol

I rebooted and tried again - same thing. :3eyes:

Has anyone managed to use these drivers with a 7600GT?

anything higher than 169. caused a blank screen on booting into windows, a few of have posted regarding this on the forum previously.

I am hoping this is now fixed as 174.20 are WHQL.

Nope. WHQL 174.16 is newer by 6 days, but it needs an INF mod to work for all cards other then 9600GT.

    174.20 is dated 13th feb 08.
174.16 is dated ????????? (haven't got this one as it need the modded inf)
    174.12 is dated 7th feb 08.

Interestingly in the nv4_disp.inf for the 174.20 there is support for
"NVIDIA_G92.DEV_0604.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2" amongst all the others................

I have 7600GT and I must add that I’m not pleased with this one. I had much better results with 169.38, so I wouldn’t recommend this one for 7600GT. Other than that I didn’t found any problem. No game crushes noted. I tested, Gears of War, Oblivion, Stalker and COD4. Everything was fine, except a bit lower frame rate…

Tried these out tonight and found them to be OK but not great.
I've tested all the recently leaked drivers but for me and my setup 169.28 are still the best.
Until nVidia come up with a new official beta I'm sitting tight :)

Doesn't work for me. COD4 freezes some 10 seconds after starting an episode. Endless looping if I start the task manager. So far, the best driver for my machine is 71.16 (XP SP3 RC1).

I experienced the same thing when I installed and configured the driver through the "Manage" control panel. If you set "frames to render ahead" to "0" setting as you could in a previous driver series, CoD4 will BSOD and crash Windows. I'm not sure why this option has made its way back into the nVidia Panel but setting this value below "1" causes immense problems on 171 and 174 driver series in Windows XP.

Hope this helps..Driver is pretty good just do not set frames ahead to "0" on these or crashes is what you'll get :nerd:

Yes, SLI works with these and they are fine performers according to my benchmarks. UT3 loves them! IQ is perfect, DV intact!
