I already posted the fix for the nvidia driver problem in crysis in the crysis demo thread. You have to change the exe because somehow the driver really fudged up. Also the driver 169.04 have really bad IQ for some reason. Doubt these fixed it since this is an WHQL of an old driver.

These drivers works so far with Hellgate:London. Running DX10 and everything och very high and extreme and so far it works with no nvbladdabladda.dll error.

These drivers are excellent for system. Got a small boost in Crysis...3-5fps and they are rock stabile... no more driver stopped working. At least for now *knock, knock*

    • Improved compatibility for The Way It’s Meant To Be Played™ game titles:
BioShock, Crysis, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Hellgate: London, and
    World in Conflict.

These improvements solve cases of reported performance slowdowns in some 3D applications
with high graphics settings and resolutions.

163.75 WHQL does not bring better FPS but more stable performance as it is noted with less slowdowns during play

i have it from the nvnews-forum

Granted the drivers are not perfect, but I would hardly say that 163.75 are crap drivers.

I know your frustrated, that we have wait so many months and still things are broke in Vista. However, things have certainly come a long way - at least for me.

Personally I think it's a lack of competition from ATI that has led to a certain amount of lethargy with regards to sorting out some of these driver problems. I hope that ATI will some day, in the not so distant future, be able to push NVIDIA like they used to.

almost a year and vista still suxs ,quite blaming the card makers ,and go back to xp ,problems are gone.and as we all see crysis on dx9 with override high settings looks and plays (with bettter performance) just like dx10. And please dont say you cant run dx10 stuff on xp cause as crysis dev even stat themselves that dx9 can do anything dx10 can do just not as good as performance.but it runs better in xp on dx9 with overriden highsettings on my comp.1280x1024 at 30-39 fps in xp but vista runs the same settings about 20-25 fps.

Wish it would have come out later and addressed these "black out" errors COD4 players with 7xxx cards are having.

ANy of yu try adjusting the Settings in Crysis during gameplay? I did and my FPS shot down to 15-20 w/ Medium everything from 30-40 at High everything running 8800GT.

Yes, my FPS shot down at lower settings if I ajust the Settings DURING game. How weird.

FPS gets really screwed up if you change settings on the fly when playing.

Put Vista on a machine that is made for vista and it will run better than XP. I just built two new vista PC's and it runs better than my XP box did.

Vista is like XP, people had all these complaints about it and most people were trying to put it on boxes that barley met minimum specs.

I think the video drivers in the beginning were lacking for vista, but they are more than acceptable now. There will always be glitches with vid card drivers but Nvidia has come a long way I would say in the last month or two to help iron these problems out.

There are also a lot of older (3-4 years old) DX9 games that have issues running on vista I have noticed.

But they still need to iron out the DX10 bug. "Display stopped responding.." issue.
