What is the Vistax64 SLI with 4gig problem?

I have Vista-64 and 4Gigs and my SLI is on?

I'm running 101.41 though? Was this something new?
Actually when I installed 101.71 SLI was still working??

As far as I can tell this effects 7xxx users only.

101.41 gives driver errors, 101.70 disables SLI on reboot but is otherwise fine. I've not seen any 101.71 drivers around...

Just curious, but why would you run DC? Or did you miss reading this little bit,

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/vista_driver_x64_installation_instructions.html

    before you downloaded the drivers?

so you say one does not have to manually/control panel/etc uninstall the nvidia drivers in vista (not even using any additional tools like drivercleaner and such), like in winxp?

Did you even read the link above? That is exactly what it says, the new drivers come with their own uninstall routine.

Then again if you have downloaded the drivers from the NV link I don't see how you could miss it as you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to get to the final download link.

I ran driver cleaner pro and uninstalled from the control panel, and i never saw anything extra about uninstalling previous drivers. So it seems driver cleaner does at least as good.

Stalker runs alittle faster, still cant do aa and full dynamic though.

Been playing around with GTR-2, reinstalled it. Got it to run fine until I install the 1.1 patch? Just keeps bringing up the config screen after installing the patch?

    Any ideas anyone?

well it works almost as fast as in winxp with css (5% slower maybe) BUT everytime i alt tab the performace drops massively down to like 30% of the normal speed and it nevre gets back to moral if i dont restart the game.

For me, it appears it wont let me adjust my screen refresh. It's stuck at 60hz. Also, while at the desktop, when I drag an icon or scroll down in IE, it feels choppy, acting like I'm trying to scroll windows and move icons while its defragging or somethin, but nothing out of the ordinary is running.

Your'e lucky, with my GX2 and 4GB of RAM, my monitor fails to respond after enabling multi-GPU mode and restarting.:behead: Using 64bit VISTA HP. BTW, same thing happen with FW 165.01....

this is getting ridiculous, £££s worth of top end video hardware and they can't get it to work under Micro$ofts new flagship OS which they've no doubt had in one form or another for a while now...

Gonna take 1 of the cards out for now, as all it's doing is heating up the box for no apparent reason..
Although the last time I did that Vista broke completely, Had to reinstall...

Hmm I got mine from Nvidia's official website (not from nzone beta section), but the driver aren't WHQL?

Edit: oops didn't see that these were still Beta.

Just to clarify I've returned home and tried these drivers out.

    1) Tried to remove old drivers (101.70) via add/remove and it blue screened
    2) Rebooted with drive signing off (F8)
    3) Installed new drivers (which auto removed old ones)
    4) Rebooted with drive signing off (F8)
    5) New drivers Installed
    6) Rebooted with drive signing off (F8)
    7) Switched into SLI mode
    8) Rebooted with drive signing off (F8)
    9) Everything worked fine up until logon screen which i could hear come up but it was all black
    10) Rebooted and disabled memory remapping in my BIOS
    11) Rebooted WITHOUT driver signing into windows just fine
    12) Ran 3dMark06 full test, scored 8123 with standard clocks

I was just a hair over 8000 with really high overclocks (570/750) before these drivers, so im guessing they're a fair bit better speed wise, unless this is needless 3DMark optimisations and nothing else, who knows.

Anyhow got 4Gb system RAM installed and I can only use 2.5Gb of it because of a stupid driver bug.

Nvidia are only releasing drivers every 4-6 weeks and the latest set dont fix this so basically it's going to be 4-6 weeks MINIMUM before we see a fix for this.

So the money on the 2Gb of extra RAM and the upgrade to Vista 64bit was well spent.

    Yah...

Well I just followed the instruction on the website and installation worked out fine...

However, scaling options still do not work for me. :(

I try to scale while keeping aspect ratio or not scaling at all, but it keeps on scaling using my monitor's scaler, which stretches all non widescreen application which means fugliness.
