Well that's a shame, it doesn't support ultrawide.

I changed config file and it in the settings it saw the resolution but still it was stuck at 16:9.

My uplay says it's still available to play.

EDIT: It has been extended it seems.

Second beta test started today, they've finally added support for ultrawide.
And a better ambient occlusion technique and supersampling AA wich destroyed my FPS btw lol.

Seems the display is still locked to windowed mode only.

So, just read that the game is and always will be... always online.
So, even when you want to play alone, you are not.

That... pretty much killed all my interest in the game.
I know for some, that's awesome. And I get that Ubisoft are really, really leaning heavily into this coop/online style of game.

But, for me (and those like me)... no thanks. :)

It's bit of a Ubisoft trend really, Steep and The Division are the same, guessing Watch Dogs 2 too.

I like the idea to a degree, for example in Division it works nicely when you see/have other players in safe houses, gives the feeling of a large scale operation.
Also these games use the servers to sync events etc. so basically rely on the connection for functionality.

I'd still prefer to have the option for offline play when playing solo though but understand that that would require different approach to developing the games.

IMO it's exactly the opposite. It's more difficult to develop multiplayer games with Server sync of data than single Player games. But: you dont have a reason why anyone should Play your new titles.

When Division (I) Servers are switched off you'll have no choice but to Play Division II even if it's ****tier.

That's why games are developed with multiplayer-like Options but without them making any sense. A Division single Player offline mode would be totally possible.

Yea I agree, note I said different approach ;)

Sure developing for offline only with local content/management is easier than server sync online.
The main downside of online is exactly that once servers go offline, you can't play anymore. Which means you're essentially "renting" the game for the server's lifetime.

What do you think of the difficulty? Have they toned it down since Alpha?

If you play vs CPU and meet two bots you can basically commit seppuku on the spot since you have no chance whatsoever to survive :)

That reminds me of one youtuber who did a letsplay of Dark Souls (2 or 3 I think).

Apparently there's some boss who will commit suicide if you win him without taking a single hit yourself.

He said:"do this and you'll see this guy do a sudoku!"

    :D

The point of the post was the guy got his words mixed up and said sudoku instead of seppuku. Which was pretty funny.

Fair point. But you can never be sure.

On another note. Supposedly invites are available for EU players too, but somehow my country is not included in the list. Whole Baltic region is not in there even.

I had to watch to the end to see if the boss actually does a sudoku... :p

"F*ck this, I've lost, time for some nice sudoku instead"

Still waiting to see any proof of the kb&m controls layout, and thus, any reason to get this...
