Folding@home: Put your CPU and GPU in use against the Corona COVID-19 virus

Added my Ryzen 7 1700 and RX 5700XT to the cause. It's the least I can do.

If i remember correctly you can't change the project, you can favore a type of research over another.

 

Make sure you change the fan curve if that's a reference RX5700XT..... Otherwise, just keep an eye on temps to make sure it doesn't get too hot.

 

So that's why I couldn't select the right project.
Also, my GPU was idle wile my CPU did all the work so I rage quit.

 

Both the CPU and GPU are on a custom loop, no worries there.

If you start like this do not even install it.
Is basically like running prime95 on your computer per hours.

Cpu power can't replace intuition of some human brain that studied medicine.
This software will just simulate interaction at chemical level between diseases and other molecolas to look for possible interactions. If a possible interaction is found, then the result get validated and studies done by labs.
Is just to preselect some between billions.

cancer kills more annually than H1N1 did and that to this point in its “pandemic” had a higher mortality rate.

 

To add to that: The mortality rate is only low among the healthy young. It's a death sentence for the elderly, or even middle aged with compromised immune systems.

The CDC reports what they've been given. What they've been given... let that sink in. Cancer is perpetual, and the chances only increase with age, it's not a limited time contagious disease spreading like wildfire. And even if it was, that doesn't change the fact that COVID-19 needs attention immediately.

There's a difference between spreading fear and spelling out any missing info. Downplaying things can be just as dangerous as actual fear mongering. Most here would live through a COVID-19 infection. I'm in the Toronto area, and at this point it seems inevitable that I'll eventually get it; yet I don't think there's a chance it hell it will kill me. I've survived worse infections while in worse condition.

That doesn't change the fact that it's an old-man-destroying virus. Two people that are family to me are 94 and 95 years old, I'm scared shitless of any chance they catch it. They wouldn't survive it.

Side note: The "pan" part of the word means it's not one area. It's all over the world now, it's a pandemic by definition now.

For those of you that ask how to get CoronaV-specific workloads...you can't.

Just select "any disease" on the appropriate tab and you should receive corona projects, since they're given priority over others.

I think we "broke" it, though...can't find any new projects for the last few hours.

The UK has a working Vaccine but it's only been tested on mice so far. Waiting on human trials but it's looking good.

Any help would be good though so if you can afford a PC for folding then it'll help.
