MikeMK: if you want to monitor the SMP2 Client, you can use HFM.NET and in the options, make sure that you check the "Calculate Bonus Credits and PPD" it can be found in Edit -> Preferences -> Options
So remember that you need to first qualify for the bonus points so it might take 2-3 days if you fold 24/7 and depending on the WU type you are assigned.

Thanks for all your help PantherX. reinstalled it using the guide u posted above and its now running the a3 core with all of my CPU's maxed at 100%! Will check out HFM.net, & add those extra flags as u recommend :)

Note that the flag that iancook221188 recommended are also correct but:

    1) Usage of -advmethods will give you access to the WUs are are in late/advance BETA Stage. This translates in an increased probability of you getting EUE (Early Unit Ended). I have been using this flag on my SMP2 Client and have folded 160 WUs without any EUE or problems so it is rare. If you do come across an EUE WU then please report it either here so that I can mention it in the Offical Folding Forum or if you want, you too can sign up for the forum and post it there yourself.

    2) Usage of -smp flag will result in the Client harnessing the entire CPU so it will be maxed out. If it is a non-dedicated system, then you may want to consider -smp 11 or -smp 10 (depending on which one is more stable as there are reports that using -smp 11 results in Unstable Machine error or EUEs). The reason is that if the CPU Cycles are "stolen" from the a3 Core, it will cause a non-linear slowdown in the processing of the WU which will decreas your overall PPD. Right now is a good time to experiment with the flag as you will be getting base points only for the first 10 a3 WUs that you submit. After that, you will be getting the Bonus points as long as you keep an 80% return rate. More details here: (http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=13160#p128586)

If you have any problems/questions, I would be glad to help you. Happy Folding :)

Thanks Hilbert - getting quite into it. I am actually debating building a small folding rig. I have a spare Phenom II 955 BE sat here, if I can get a cheap mobo for it I might get it set-up.

Only if he folds all the time, so far 4 days of folding, 470, 2700, 22400, 6900 ppd.
You need staying power to get any where. A case of the snail beating the hare in this game sometimes...

Thanks guys... think this 980x is a godly CPU too which helps ;)

As i said earlier im thinking of putting together a cheap folding rig. I already have a 955BE sat here unused, and an Antec 300 in the loft. Gonna try and find myself a cheap motherboard for it. In terms of GPU obviously nvidia seem to do better than ATI at this game. I want something cheap, that doesnt use loads of power but will get me some decent PPD. Ideas?
