Hey guys, this bug has been happening for months and I still haven't been able to find a solution. I'm on a 4090 and had a 4080 before, it was the same.
I'm using a Sony 65X90J 120hz, via hdmi 2.1 (tried several cables), tried a different TV - didn't help. These are my specs: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/37185973
There is flickering only while gaming, it doesn't happen anywhere else.
This is a video of the bug: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eutiKl14qNLqdtD5e1afK_Tt5CWWrrEW/view?usp=share_link
I have a 850w PSU which is supposed to be enough (for the 4080 for sure).
The weird thing is the bug only happens when I'm centered on a game. If I put the game on the background there is no flickering at all.
When there's an option to limit the FPS cap from a 120 to a 90, the flickering is reduced by ~80%.

    Did you tried disabling gsync?

    turn off variable refresh.

That's not a solution but merely a workaround (which is fine only when a bugfix update is already promised).

theres no bug to fix, the vrr range on this isn't that great, going below or above it will engage/disengage vsync and flicker when it does so.

Had this problem with ACodyssey and it was ENABLING vsync that fixed it for me, kinda had it with AC origins but somehow it worked itself out. I prefer no vsync in most games, more responsive controls and faster panning, cp77 is much better without it for me. I just dial my settings to my system and it's no problem, minimal to no tearing means I'm at a good settings profile for my system.

Did you try GSync+VSync+Limiter where the limit is the max refresh rate minus 2? The lag should be virtually identical to VSync=off but with no tearing at the bottom.
VSync might also be needed for doubling the frames when the fps is below the range (to get it back into the range) aka LFC (as AMD calls it). At least for G-Sync Compatible (e.g. no nV module inside the display).

Uh idk dude you're way over doing it there, I don't have gsync number 1, I always limit every game to 60fps via ncp, appropriate to my system specs. I was playing fullscreen on my laptop no other outputs etc Terrible flickering I couldn't hardly look at the screen, just enough to reenable vsync. No worries I was just going back to try dxvk for the lows and it really helped, my lows were in the 30s and went up 10fps so it was much better. Was done with that game a while ago but who wants to reinstall 125gb just keep it on an external drive.
