Flagship Intel Skylake-S Core i7-6700K CPU gets benchmarked

    I've been running mine even on 5Ghz 1.44v over a year, no sign of degradation. I dont think they'll die that easily, probably MB will fail before CPU.

    I'm interested in seeing how well it overclocks, but I doubt it will be enough to get me to move from my 4790k which runs at default voltage at 4.6GHz 24/7 I suppose If I needed to get a little more performance, or come close to matching a new i7 in something, I could bump voltage and and go another step up in my OC.

    Even if Skylake can hit 5GHz reliably, it will still only be ~15% faster than my 4790 in multithreaded apps (lesss in single core, it appears), which certainly does not justify a cpu, mobo and ram purchase.

    Now, If they decided to make a 6 (or 8) core version, I might go for it.
