Nvidia have root caused the issue to the handling of SPD Infoframes causing corrupt frame / flicker on modes other than VRR, when using a pure HDMI > HDMI connection.

A Workaround will be added to the drivers.

It won't be in the next driver, because it is already built and undergoing validation tests.

Awesome ! i don't have a bravia tv, but had this issue, the thing i had to do was to change in cru the bandwitdh for the hdmi 2.1.
    I put 40giga and not 48giga.

Sony Bravia TV's from 2020 and up use HDMI Fourm VRR (48 Gbps), the problem is you can't switch from 60Hz to 120Hz without having a black screen flicking.
in order to the fix the problem you got to pick 60Hz first then 100Hz then 120Hz in order to use 120Hz but the problem don't stop there, black screen flicking happens in game change when you change the refresh from 60Hz to 120Hz which is a pain (removing and replugging the HDMI cable back to the GPU to get a signal back).

The post is about a Firmware issue in the TV that nvidia tripped up on by handling HDMI 2.x more accurately, and only occurs when not using VRR

Finally. My 77a80j with RTX 3080 was nothing but a nightmare . Turning on the tv had to be followed by switching first to VRR (HDMI settings on the TV)+HDR(windows settings) and then switching back to HDMI enhanced , in order to get a not corrupted picture.

After that, sound started to suddenly dissapear so had to switch audio output from back and forth to bring back sound (only on PC ).

I blamed Sony for this horrific experience using their TV connected to a PC .

Hoping for a fix finally .

Your blame is correctly placed, who knows if the fix will break when sony fixes the firmware.

I've lost all hope in Sony fixing the issue on their part. If they haven't fix it till now, I doubt they will invest fixing the issue now. Especially when their new 2023 TVs are about to be released with a newer chip .

this is the flicker and dropouts I complained about before with my Sony Bravia. I was hassled from others because they didn't believe me! Thank you for finding the update info! With Some of the Nvidia driver releases the issue was not nearly as bad, this latest driver update is one of the worst!

Appreciate the feedback but I guess that means it’s going to be a long wait till the fix is out as you mentioned it’s not going to be in the next driver update.

Would gladly test this if I can get the driver.

Signed up for Windows insider, but I don't see any Nvidia drivers included in the optional drivers in Windows update.

That's where it should be right?
