XFX Radeon HD 6870 Smiles for the Camera
NVIDIA i am dissapoint
Nice looking card, i have to say the XFX logo on the back looks neat too, but since most GPU's look the same, it doesn't tell us much, other its likely to draw more power, and be hotter than the 5770, though the 5770 needed 2x6 as well, so maybe not.
Also looks like it won't support tri, or quad fire.
Hopefully we get a rough idea of prices soon.
wow that card looks sick. Might be switching to AMD this year.
i dont get it..that side of the card will look to the wall..why bother?
So they can stick a camera right up close to it for the marketing images:banana:
5000 series looks prettier. Don't really care how it looks, performance! Will see review when it comes out...
Anyone know when they are going to be releasing the 6xxx series cards? Or any performance stats yet?
looks like a brick to me, dunno why they got rid of the tapered surface the 5xxx have
Mine look to the center of the room .... 2x XFX logos will look nice here with the black back of my HAF-X ( this don't mean i will choose XFX or another brand cause of it ..) ....anyway, at the moment they don't charge you for it, it's not important.... anyway this will be the only thing who stay after removed the cooler for put a nice wb on it .
I still kinda miss the curves of older cards.
Anyone herd anything about the cheaper eyefinity displayport dongle or if it's needed anymore like the sappire flex? I herd rumors a while back that some companies were thinking of bundling it in with the cards.
I'm on one of these on day one I just want to make sure to get the dongle if it's needed
cant wait to get one of those
57xx to 68xx
AMD, I am dissapoint.
I'm properly confused now. If the rumours of the 6800 series actually taking the place of the 5700 series are true, why the hell does it have 2 6-pin PCI-E connectors?
if the 5770 is rebranded into 6870 why does it have 2 6pin connectors?
Having purchased XFX in the past, I can safely say I'm not a fan, but this card does look good. I don't really follow ATI, excuse me, AMD cards too often so how's the performance supposed to stack up, say against a Nvidia?
Because it's not a rebrand, but a new card that'll match the 5850 for performance according to rumour.
Changing labels like this might make AMD a nice bundle at first, but it's more likely to cause irrepairable harm from people not in the know paying good money for something that isn't a real upgrade.
No, a 5770 doesn't have 2 6 pin connectors. It has one.
