I cant help but notice that all these shots seem to be the 'plushy' replay system, and not actual in-car in-game footage. If CM actually make the in-car view look like this then it gets my vote, and my wallet contents too!!!!

I was sold with the first release in this series as to graphics.
The game doesn't need better graphics, it needs better physics and multiplayer.
As a racing game, most of the value will be online and playing with friends.

The ambient occlusion looks so unrealistic!

Maybe for you, but i still prefer a sp mode, so i can play once in a while without getting killed every 2s (e.g. CS) just because i dont play 10h/day, or so i dont wait 30min in the lobby at 2am, just to get a team together (different game) or for the ppl that still don't have (fast) internet.

I don't see an issue with AO in general but the motion blur is funky which I assume is what you mean. That shot behind the three cars really highlights it, the car on the right is so blurred but shouldn't be.

Looks like some classic cars will be included in this version, one screenshot shows the old Williams with grooved tyres.

This titles needs native VR support, this is partly why I'm not playing the F1 20xx series of games that much, after playing the likes of pCARS2, AC and others in VR it is so hard to go back to playing on a monitor...I haven't heard anything about it being included however it would be a nice surprise if it is.

Motion Blur/DOF are always the first things I turn off in any game, just can't stand them and that pic of the 3 cars highlights exactly why they're so bad. I don't see how the devs look at that and think it looks good. Mind boggling!

Me too. As long as the game doesn't know where I'm looking on my screen it doesn't make any sense at all. And it would only make any sense IMO if it was applied as some kind of FOVeated rendering and would therefor result in a performance increase.

I love motion blur it makes movement of objects look as they would in the real world if its done right.
Not having it turned on is like removing a element of realism observed in the real world.
Its the typical knee jerk reaction of people following others like sheep when they say they
dont like it when the fact is they haven't a clue what they are saying and just copying others opinions to make themselves look more clever than they actually are.
The human eye can not collect enough data fast enough for us to see objects moving past us clearly without it looking transparent.
An object being displays on screen is a representation of the real world and without the blur and transparency observed in the real world only makes it look fake.
I hate turning motion blur off it reminds me im playing on a monitor and that's a immersion breaker.

Huge difference between my brain seeing "motion blur" because there is too much visual data to process all of it to watching a static rectangle screen with a blur effect where my head isn't moving. Now once we get 360 degree screens and you are actually having to move your head, then I am sure motion blur would be useful but then only if the images are beamed onto/into the eyes. Otherwise you're still looking at a static, albeit 360 degree screen, and turning would mean my brain would naturally induce motion blur.

Everyone sees things different and for me motion blur feels unrealistic in games. In real life, even if it is there, i don't really notice motion blur when I move my head, unless I am wildly moving my head left and right really fast. So when I see it in a game, it stands out and I can't stop noticing it, it's distracting.

But also as The Reeferman said, the game has no idea what part of the screen i am looking at so there is no way it could ever apply DOF properly. Most of the time I am looking around the screen and all I see is blur because the games wants me to look at one particular part of the screen. Need some sort of eye tracking for that to properly work really.

Each to their own! Which is why options in games are good :)

please find someone with a fast car, possibly drive it on a track above 120mph,
and will realise there is no blurry or tunnel vision, just because your going fast.
so far, i've actually seen the opposite happening (past 150 it start to feel slower looking out the window).
