Mozilla's "It was an experiment" is IT equivalent of " Its just a prank, bro"

After over a decade of being a Firefox user, I finally gave up last year.

It's not the first time Mozilla tried to pull a fast one, but I've not seen any ads myself. However I will be the first one to leave Firefox (vanilla) when it becomes standardized.

Who's paying for Firefox development? And how to they make a profit? Mozilla is a for-profit business.

As the reddit link says, turn it off in options....

You can avoid these by disabling Snippets in preferences > home > Snippets

Pretty much google is for making it the default search engine best I can tell.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Foundation

Then a little bit of investment funding on top I guess.

afaik, it's browser side "ad", not an ad on the HTML.

Anyway, I think Firefox just messed up a bit and it wasn't something they got paid for. Probably a convenient tool, like a search engine.
