    Windows 10 1809 aka Redstone 5

Microsoft has today released a new build of Windows 10 Redstone 5 to Insiders on the Fast Ring bringing several improvements and bug fixes.
The Redmond software maker is already done with testing new features for the upcoming version of its desktop operating system and is currently focusing on performance improvements and stability.
Along with the usual bug fixes, today’s build also introduces the official version number to the Preview Build, confirming that the next Windows version is to be Windows 10 1809 (via Neowin).
The first two digits of this version number correspond to the year while the last two reveal the month of release of a particular Windows version (usually its RTM build) to the public.

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC with Windows 10 1809 Build 17741

    • We’ve updated the Emoji Panel to now support search and tooltips for the Emoji 11 emoji that were added recently. These keywords will also populate text predictions when typing with the touch keyboard.
    • We fixed an issue where the taskbar flyouts (network, volume, etc) no longer had an acrylic background in recent builds.
    • We fixed an issue affecting certain apps where after quitting the app from its systray icon, the next time the app launched it would only display its systray icon (and not the corresponding open app window).
    • We fixed an issue in recent builds resulting in Spotlight taking an unusually long time to switch pictures after selecting “Not a fan” from under “Like what you see?”
    • We’re updating the image size limit for clipboard history (WIN + V) from 1MB to 4MB to accommodate the potential size of full screen screenshots taken on a high-DPI devices.
    • We fixed an issue where if you opened Cortana and then clicked the Notebook icon before starting your search, then window would end up truncated.
    • We fixed an issue where if Action Center was already open, Narrator wouldn’t announce incoming notifications.
    • We fixed an issue resulting in autoplay notifications not appearing recently until you pressed WIN.
    • We fixed an issue where if you received a toast, manually dismissed it, and immediately received another toast, you would hear the second toast ding but not appear.
    • We fixed an issue where if Settings was open to “Bluetooth & Other Devices” and then minimized to the taskbar, when you tried to resume the app Settings would crash.
    • We fixed an issue from recent builds where the first time you manually selected the date in Date & Time Settings, it would revert to Jan 1st.
    • We fixed an issue resulting in the Min/Max buttons in the Microsoft Store app frame overlapping the app content if it was open when switching from tablet mode into desktop mode.
    • We fixed an issue from recent builds resulting in share target windows (aka the app you select when prompted from the Share UI) not closing when you pressed Alt+F4 or the X.
    • We fixed an issue resulting in IMEs not being able to type East Asian characters into forms in Microsoft Edge.
    • We’ve made some adjustments to improve the amount of CPU that cdpusersvc uses.
    • [ADDED] We fixed the issue causing PCs to bugcheck (GSOD) when deleting a local folder that is synced to OneDrive.

Le Mans e-sports series announced as motorsport gets serious about gaming
ACO goes live with Forza 7-based series, and with $100,000 prize pot.

The ACO - the governing body behind the Le Mans 24 Hours - used this weekend's round of the World Endurance Championship at Silverstone to announce and kick off the Le Mans esports series,
which will see players compete to win part of a $100,000 prize pot and the chance for a place on the podium at next year's Le Mans.

The first round of the series has already kicked off, with a preliminary qualifier taking place to coincide with the Silverstone round of the WEC,
and with future rounds that lead into the final at next year's Le Mans in June to coincide with upcoming events on the official WEC series calendar.

The esports series has got considerable buy-in from the ACO - the WEC's CEO Gerard Neveu was on-hand for the announcement,
as was 2018 Le Mans winner and two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso, who's already heading up his own esports team.

"I'm happy to be an owner of a team, I'm very proud of what the guys are doing, and I think that you will have a huge success with this new adventure, a lot of people are behind it,"
Alonso said at the announcement event.
"The possibilities that esports has are unlimited. We have probably not reached the limit yet, we will keep discovering more"

"Esports is a reality, it's no longer a fantasy or a game," Alonso continued. "It's a platform that works not only for gamers, but for professional drivers too.
We have been using simulators for a couple of years now, learning tracks and developing cars. Now, we have a fantastic fanbase outside motor racing,
they love what we do, but they do it differently. It's not better, it's not worse - and it's a little bit cheaper than the real cars, too."

WEC isn't the first big motorsport series to put its weight behind esports - F1, under the guidance of new owners Liberty Media, has ramped up its involvement,
with a number of F1 teams getting involved in the official esports series, while this weekend a former WRC2 driver won the World Rally Championship esports title - and it shows that the motorsport world is beginning to take esports very seriously indeed.

The Le Mans esports series will be using Forza Motorsport 7 for its inaugural series, and offline events taking place at various races and shows over the next few months will also help pool together winners from the online events.

Registration is now open on the official Le Mans esports series' website,
and qualification for the initial Silverstone races runs through until August 31st.

    Space Hulk: Tactics

Yes, another Warhammer 40,000 video game - I know! But this one looks like it could be pretty good.
Space Hulk: Tactics is the famous sci-fi board game meets XCOM, essentially.
You control a squad of Space Marine Terminators who explore space hulks - "the floating amalgamations of smashed-together starships" - and tear apart Genestealers.

The turn-based strategy game has a card system, two campaigns, competitive multiplayer, four customisable Space Marine chapters and four Genestealer Hive Fleets to play around with.
There's a mission editor inspired by the clip-together nature of building scenarios in the board game, too.

Check out the video, below, which provides a deep dive into the game's mechanics.

Space Hulk: Tactics comes out on 9th October 2018 on PC.

    Micro-LED in The News
LG is innovative once again :D

LG will be showcasing a huge Micro-LED TV at this year’s IFA trade show. Measuring around 175 inches in size,
it will be even bigger than Samsung’s 146-inch Wall TV. It is also expected to be thinner than 80 millimeters.

A micro LED TV is made of millions of self-emitting chips that are smaller than 100 micrometers,
and boasts better picture contrast and energy efficiency than the existing high-end OLED and LCD-based products, including Samsung’s QLED TVs.
It does not require backlighting units, thanks to the self-emissive nature of the tiny LEDs, so it is much thinner than the other types of TVs.

    Not entirely.
IMO we will have A.I. managed - Draw Stream Binning Rasterizer in December Big update.
I think it will uplift Vega uArch performance by additional 20-30% (conservative prognosis)

Thats why it's so difficult to Proper implement this Feature.
It is implemented & enabled even now, but it needs Dev to write code by Hand ;)
(DOOM Eternal will be good example)

That's why ATI working on A.I. sort of managment -> How to & When + Where A.I. Tasks
Then you can just have it everywhere (even in DX9/OGL games lol)

This particular Feature can Give us even >50% Uplift for DeusEx MkD
Today i've meansured Deus and end up with 65FPS Average (Ti have 67FPS)
so add to this 32FPS and we have 97FPS average in 1440p playing DeusEx MkD !

    Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red made it clear that not much about Cyberpunk 2077 would be revealed to the public, with no public booth and a demo showing only happening behind closed doors.
Still, it seems like players will still be getting something new soon.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Official Twitter profile is teasing some news coming tomorrow,
August 21st, which is also the first day of this year’s Gamescom.

New system update available: gamescom version 2.18

    > System update available

    > System update successful!

    Welcome to gamescom v. 2.18!

Next update scheduled for Tuesday, August 21st.#Cyberpunk2077 #Gamescom2018 pic.twitter.com/CLAfwYu24T

    — Cyberpunk 2077 (@CyberpunkGame) August 20, 2018

Additional information on Cyberpunk 2077 emerged online last week thanks to one of the game’s writers, Stanislaw Swiecicki, who confirmed that the game will feature dynamic weather and a full day-night cycle.
Mike Pondsmith, creator of Cyberpunk 2020, also revealed some new details on the game recently.

I got to wander through a lot more than was shown at E3, The sequences where you’re going down to the Ripperdoc and all that.
There are entire neighborhood areas in there where you can walk around and you can listen to people’s gossip.

Because it’s in first-person, what I love is you get that stuff peripherally. You could be crossing to go down the street to get something and hear somebody say something [behind you], and you have to turn and figure out who said it in a crowd and where.
You don’t have complete situational awareness, which makes it a far more powerful experience.
