The minimum and recommended GPUs are almost nonsense.... AMD it's the same GPU, nVidia it's almost the same (slightly weaker, 760 ti being the same as the 670, 760 is slightly cut down) obviously it's a case of just eating more VRAM as would be expected at the higher resolution... Guess the game wont be very demanding on a GPU itself in that regard.

 

For 1080p 3GB is an minimum today (Better Textures = More VRAM)
Also Ultra textures and High textures are not distinguishable that easy on the first/second glance.

Square Enix has released a new video, showing ten minutes of gameplay footage from Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
This video shows Lara exploring the largest hub ever found in a Tomb Raider game featuring a bustling city with challenge tombs, side missions, and more.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour.
As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will ultimately be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.

The game will last around 13-15 hours (without the side missions) and the hunting and the equipment will be more important this time around. The main tombs will be very important, will be “more classic,” and will be deadlier than before.
Players will be able to swim and dive, and will be also able to use their rope to go up and down walls, run through them, and perform longer jumps.

Devil May Cry 5


Capcom has released plans for the new Devil May Cry in the latest issue of the Japanese magazine, Famits, which is going to appear on the shelves in the spring of 2019.
They talked about the technical and gameplay aspects, and in the basics they outlined their (big) ambitions for this giant of hack and slash genre.

• The game will have photorealistic graphics, with the characters and clothes obtained by scanning 3D objects.
• The game will run at 60 frames per second!
• Combat moves can not be interrupted in the middle of doing them to prevent mindless pressing of controller buttons.
• Since the moves will be saved instantaneously in the memory of the move combination, the timing should be simpler for performance.
• The game should represent the "culmination of action games in the Heisei period".
• Main story will take place several years after the events in DMC 4.
• The game will contain dynamic music that will vary depending on the player's performance during combat.
• Some have noticed that Dante looks like crazy dad - apparently there is a good reason for this.

 

Overwatch FREE from July 26 to 30

All Windows PC users with a Blizzard account will be able to download and play Overwatch for FREE during this period—no special keys or sign-up codes needed!

The free weekend coincides with the Overwatch League Grand Final and also provides access to the game’s newest Hero,
Wrecking Ball aka Hammond the hamster. Why not to love?



All 28 heroes—including Wrecking Ball—and 18 maps available for play in a variety of modes, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Arcade.
Players will also be able to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock a variety of different customization options for their heroes.

If you decide to purchase Overwatch after test driving the game, you'll get to keep any progress that you made during the weekend—just be sure to use the same Blizzard account that you played on.

Youtube is far from what it used to be in the early days. The video hosting platform has undergone several transformations over the years, and not all of them have had desirable effects.
Recently, it received a design refresh with Google’s Polymer library which enabled “quicker feature development” for the platform. However, the change seems to have affected some browsers negatively.
According to Chris Peterson, a Technical Program Manager at Mozilla, YouTube’s performance on Mozilla’s own Firefox as well as Microsoft Edge is about five times slower compared to that of Google Chrome.

YouTube page load is 5x slower in Firefox and Edge than in Chrome because YouTube's Polymer redesign relies on the deprecated Shadow DOM v0 API only implemented in Chrome.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

This month, Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics are giving a better look at the other half of the game.
There are lots of combat, but exploration and puzzle elements are still as important.

$75 million-plus budget is a good reason to create a massive hub city “Paititi.” Lara can barter for gear, upgrade her translation abilities, and take on side quests from the locals.
When bartering, Lara can use what she’s found in the nearby tombs and crypts to trade for crafting materials, weapons, and outfits.
It’s a tough jungle out there, so Lara is going to have to gather as much as she can. One can never know what might come in handy whilst delving into a crumbling tomb.

"Paititi" is the biggest hub area in the series yet. In addition to picking up side quests and the location of challenge tombs, you can also interact with its barter-based economy.
There are plenty of folk around, and talking to them may flesh out certain parts of the overarching story.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 14.

 

Devil’s Hunt

1C Company has announced that it will publish the heaven and hell themed, third-person action game, Devil’s Hunt, in 2019.
In order to celebrate this announcement, the publisher has shared the game’s announcement teaser trailer.

In Devil’s Hunt, players will go to hell and back in the battle between Demons and Angels. In this upcoming third-person perspective (TPP) action game developed for PC and console by Layopi Games, players will become Desmond,
a man with demonic powers who can decide the fate of our world by joining either side of the conflict.

Based on the original hit Polish fantasy novel, “Equilibrium,” Devil’s Hunt brings to life the eternal fight between light and darkness as all-out war between Demons and Angels appears imminent with the mortal world as the battleground.
Desmond can fight using his fists and claws, making use of the skills his demonic and human sides offer—but ultimately he must choose which side he will follow.

 

Turn10 and Playground Games will completely remove prize crates from Forza Motorsport 7

Turn10 and Playground Games have announced that they will completely remove price crates from Forza Motorsport 7.
This decision was made due to the overwhelming feedback regarding them, and the teams claimed that it will be completed in the winter timeframe.

As Alan Hartman said:

“One major area of discussion for the team has been prize crates. While we’ve never charged money for prize crates in Forza Motorsport 7, their presence in the game has continued to be a source of controversy.
The overwhelming feedback has been that this system feels out of place in the game. After careful consideration, we have decided to completely remove prize crates from Forza Motorsport 7.”

What’s also cool here is that paid tokens – which were a part of previous Forza games – will not be coming to Forza Motorsport 7 or in the upcoming Forza Horizon 4.

Alan concluded:

“Due to the complexity of removing prize crates from the game – while keeping access to Driver Gear, Mods and Badges – we expect that this process will be completed in the winter timeframe.
Starting this month we’ve already taken steps towards that goal, first by unlocking more than 100 previously locked “exclusive” cars and, second, by completely removing cars from the prize crates in the game.
The current lineup of prize crates offer no competitive advantage and only offer Driver Gear suits, Mods and badges, and these crates will remain in place until crates are removed entirely.”

 

Post Scriptum

Periscope Games has announced that its first-person simulation shooter that provides an authentic WWII combat experience, Post Scriptum, has entered its beta phase.
Players will be able to experience an immersive gameplay style where tactics and teamwork are necessary to win the round.

In Post Scriptum, you can be in a section with 8 other infantry players, each with designated roles (Medic, AT, Machine Gunner, Rifleman), work together to command a tank or play logistics and build fortifications and weapon emplacements for your team.

Post Scriptum is a WW2 simulation game, focusing on historical accuracy, large scale battles, difficult learning curve and an intense need for cohesion, communication and teamwork.
Players will relive the events of ‘Operation Market Garden’ across the fields and towns of Holland.

In a 40 vs. 40 multiplayer setting, players will be given the option to fight with the British Airborne Division and its Polish brigade, British XXX Corps, US Airborne (Post-Release) or several branches of the German Army, such as the Wehrmacht or the Waffen SS.
It’s a rare opportunity to experience the intense battlefield that was the Battle of Arnhem, which stretched across farms, woods, villages and city areas. Each area is being accurately recreated from archival references that range from street level to aerial images.
Whether you’re jumping out of a plane, resupplying friendlies or operating a tank you will find multiple reasons to drop back into the battlefield in this grand scaled representation of a WW2 setting never explored in a large multiplayer environment.
