Diablo IV in the news ! The wait for Diablo 4 makes the fans of the series now impatient. The last part is already years back and developer Blizzard has since only very poor replenishment. However, the release is still a long time in coming: Blizzard employees have allegedly already shown the game, but expect that the development will take quite a while. Diablo 4 is probably one of the most eagerly awaited games from Blizzard - not least because the continuation of the Diablo series has been waiting so long. The release of the third part is meanwhile already seven years back - since then there was next to a big expansion and a new hero but only little food for the hungry fans. That alone caused many players over the years growing displeasure. The BlizzCon 2018 then poured even more fuel into the fire: After Blizzard had previously announced "exciting news" to Diablo, the visitors on site and the many spectators in the stream with Diablo Immortal were fed - a mobile game that not only for disappointed faces caused a real shitstorm. News on Diablo 4, however, remained completely. The reputation of the developer has suffered even a further setback shortly thereafter: CEO Bobby Kotick announced that Activision-Blizzard must dismiss eight percent of his employees - around 800 employees were then without a job. The wave of redundancies also affects many Blizzard Europe employees: 30 percent of them are to be dismissed - a process that is currently not yet completed. The reason is the poor performance of some games and the fact that they have long since exceeded their zenith and are nearing their end, say Blizzard employees. So what does that mean for Diablo 4? Release not before 2020 Some Blizzard employees talk to the French newspaper LeMonde about the company's future and Diablo 4. The staff had already seen the game in an in-house presentation. However, according to her, Diablo 4 would still be a long time in coming: at the earliest, they anticipate a release in 2020 - and tend to even later. Incidentally, the same applies to a new Overwatch offshoot, which is currently in development. Because of the wave of dismissals, the employees are unsure whether they are still employed until the release of the two games at Blizzard.
