Damn, fan speed is OK but I went from new 950 on mem to old 900. Strange. :3eyes:
Anyway I'm fine, probably Gainward will have another BIOS to fix that problem with 260.63 beta driver.
I'll bother you again then. :nerd:
    Thanks again, you're blazing fast.

Twilight Zone. This time mem clocks remains. :3eyes:

Thanks from the bottom of my heart. This was an old BIOS version but for me it looks perfect: I have my mem clocks as it should, fan speed at 30% and no psychedelic colors/lockups with 260.63.
Thanks again you made me very happy.

Could you be so kind to increase voltage limits and also increase max fan speed limit to 100%?

Is it safe to flash in windows? Can you do it in safe mode? What would be a safe limit for the Palit 460 GTX Sonic Platnium as far as volts? Also what are some examples of "doing it wrong" and ruining your card?

    Thanks so much.

In last two days I've made almost 10 flashes in Seven x64. No problems whatsoever.
Just be sure that nvflash is not interfering with whatever security solution do you have (UAC or any security/AV suite) and you're running as Administrator.

hey beta, if you got time, can you also modify mine?

i just want a higher voltage limiter.
and also any comments on max safe voltage on stock cooling?

and is there a way to get 5k+ rpm fan? my "100%" is around 4850rpm.

    thx a lot beta!

    Hy,

U can flash in windows too, but i preffer Dos mode that means with an bootdisk (usb, etc)
But you can flash in windows, you just have to make shur NOTHING is running in the background, no Virus scaner, firefox or whatver it is that is running..Best, cut off the internet and turn off everything, so there is no chance that something can interfiere the flash process...

Ok, WHat can u do wrong? The Flashing could go wrong, but i never saw this, Thats why u make an Backup of the original Bios..

The more danger is the Voltage itself ;)
I´ll give u the same max. Voltage i gave me...I think thats enough for stock cooling..but I wouldnt set it over 1.110 to 1.137 Volt...
And always keep an Eye on the Temps..If its too hot, back it up, lower the Voltage..

Theres always the way of buying an aftermarket cooler..I have the Gigabyte, it has 2 Fans and cools very very well...And it has an COOLER for the VRM chips !!! thats important to i guess...
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are Some Tutorials on how u flash:

    http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/1498...-flashing.html
    or here
    http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.ph...13&postcount=1

Also you can flash it in windows.
    get this here:
    http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...r_Windows.html

Then extract everything in one folder..
Put the Bios also in this folder.

    Go to RUN.and type "cmd"
no u go to that folder..(lets say u have it here: C:\NVflash)
    type:

    cd c: (enter)
    cd Nvflash (enter)
then type DIR and u will see whats in there..
    if everything is there type:

    Nvflash.exe -5 -6 NewBios.rom (enter)
Then it should start flashing the card..
Theres also an tut in the nvflash folder..

Important!!! quit everything thats running in windows, firefox, antivir, etc etc..
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oki Doki...And dont force it, if something doesnt work or U are not shure, ASK...

heres the Bios ;) Edit, your Fan speed was allready max. @ 100%..PICS:

    Hy there,

I can give u a higher Voltage Limit..
I cant recomend you an max safe VOltage, but it depends all on your cooling, like i said to Metz one post UP..

I give u a lil push on the Voltage, try it slowly and Watch the temps..After that u still can ask an d add more...

Also there is no way of changing the Fan speed, 100% is 100% ;)
You are better of with an aftermarket Cooler, like the one from Arctic cooling, are the best VGA Coolers i ever used...(Acellero Extreme).

So here´s the Bios, i changed the Max. Voltage from 1.075 Volt to 1.150 Volt.. I think thats enough right now...Be shure u test it and maybe u dont even need this much...Its all controllable in Afterburner ;)

Beta, i hope you would like to help me aswell
Inno3D didnt release a BIOS yet for my GTX460 so my fan is still limited to 70%
Also i would like to have 30% minimum fan speed. And a higher voltage limit would be nice aswell. Not too high but a little bit above 1.1

And i would like to say thank you for helping us all with the GTX460 bios. And also thanks for the maker of the program.

    Gainward GTX460 1GB GS
    Hi Beta!

    Greetings from Sweden!
I was searching the net for a sollution to my Gainward GTX460 GS noise problem and came across this superb thread! :)
Could you please help me with the fan speed, put it at 30% and perhaps raise the voltage. It´s quite cool right now at 40% fan speed...is 30% minimum or is it safe to lower the fan speed to 20% ?
Another thing, do you know if there is any after market cooler that fits my card?
Better air flow at lower noise level is always appreciated!

    Attached Bios below

    Thanks in advance! :)

I would not suggest Fan @ 20%, why? look here:
    http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=3706714&postcount=10

And yes, there are better After market cooler coming from Arctic cooling..i read somewhere in 2 month or so they should be in the stores..but im not quite shure, But what i am shure of, is that arctic cooling has the BEST VGA Coolers, (acellero Xtreme).

There also some other Coolers out there, but they dont have Ram cooling, VRM cooling..I dont know why they are doing this but its stupid if u ask me..
So i guess waiting for the Arctic cooling ones would be the best choice..Google it a lil, maybe u find a date?
    http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_&mID=619
    [IMG]

Ok, for ur Bios..I change the Fan speed to 30% min and add alil more max. Voltage , but not much..Test it first, watch the Temps and when everything is Good, i may raise it more..
