Ok, what are both of the system specs? And what do you mean by won't load all 5 disks? It won't read one of the disks or it crashes in the installation?

All the specifics you can give will help us figure out your problem easier if we can at all...

They say "you cannot return software "so people don't even try
WAKE up people, if it don't work , throw it back in their face!!!
And next time they release software ,
it WILL be ready for prime time
50 bucks is to much for a game that doesn't work
    It's must be beta
but they must need the money or a time dead line
I'm not going to be a sucker and get ripped off
When I see it working I'll try again ..maybe !!

P.S I waited for the full game to be released since the demo
Got it the day it was released .. So this is a big let down for me

This seems to be a big thing, drama all over the net with people not being able to run FEAR (cd and dvd versions) because of a SecureROM problem. People are steamed. I feel almost embarassed to admit that I've not had a single problem with the game. Installed it on 2 PCs, both of them run it brilliantly, no hangs, crashes, bugs, glitches or anything.

It's a fantastic game, and I feel really sorry for people who aren't getting the chance to play it. :( SecureROM sucks, I thought we had established that by now?

They should test it be for they sell it
What good is it if most gamers can't run it
Sure the better the pc , the better the gaming candy will be,
But at lease it should load and play on most pc's it's just good sense
    The DEMO played,,NO PROBLEMS
This could be looked at as a rip-off scam
If this was a car there would be a total recall

P.S. MY pc is at the high top end for hardware needed to play

I don't think it's "most gamers". I haven't heard this problem mentioned in any reviews, and as I say, I've installed it on 2 machines, both of which run it just fine. The problem is SecureROM, which is hardly new.

You haven't looked around ,,since you have no problem
And what you do see has no meaning to you since it working for you
If you call there tech support they will tell you they are flooded with problems..
Its only been out for 48 hours

P.S. every game has loaded into my pc
FEAR is first one that as not been able to load in THIS pc
I got acustomed to software working right ,, this is a throw back of ten years .I'm sorry to say...

    Got the dvd
ONLY will run in 1 out of 2 pc's
It runs on a 2 year dvd player with lower specs and not the one with a newer dvd burner , my better pc
Looks like I'll swap the drives just for this
What is this world coming too???
Save your old junk so you can play the newest software

A lot of install issues with recent games are caused by DVD drives not adhering to the proper standards which is why some drives do not install and others will.

Blame the hardware makers as they try to give their drives performance boosts which can & do cause issues with DVD movies & PC software.

I had an MSI DVD writer a few years ago and had to get several firmware upgrades from MSI for it to play DVD's or install any PC software.

If you contact the hardware maker they usually respond quickly with a firmware update for you.

Securerom also modify their protection and give workarounds on their website to help with the install.

    Good luck.

If I need good luck to get these games to run ... forget-it
They over protect the software so that no one can run it
Yes i know they lose money to piracy
But if they keep doing this over - protected - disc suff
and most users are haveing problems ot get to run/play
They will just lose it all... out-of-business
    I'll returning this crap

P.S the game stinks... the demo parts were the best part of the game (there free to download) ,, there is crapy color in the game ,, not like FarCry
its almost like black and white and in a fog
It wasn't worth all the crap to get it to run !!!!!

touchee! i see the only reason why u say it sucks is because you cant play it. lmao. seriously though try updating your drivers or changing the system settings and or run the fear config utility in your start menu then try it.

I did get to play it
But it would only start-up after 4 or 5 tries (dvd)(the cds never worked)
All my driver are up to date
This is more of a warning and just telling my findings so that people don't get stuck with this software , most people don't have the balls ( I DO :argue: ) to return opened software and will just get burned for 50 bucks or buy a new disc drive when its just bad software

then dont use the updated drivers. the most up to date drivers on my 6800 causes the game to crash...only 77.76 works without locking up (for me) but i still get massive texture corruption unless i alt tab out and back in the game. i know its not the games fault, its my videocards and im sure that its the same case scenario with you. all you can do is fidget with your drivers and find what works, or just get a new computer entirely.

edit: by the way, posting your comp specs would help
