@Fender178 If you really think this is about the individual consumer, way, way off base. All this has done is to bring the internet under a highly regulated classification. Broadband already operates effectively as a monopoly. They initially made a verbal attempt to bring about competition. But the providers were allowed to make backroom deals amongst themselves. Competition is the only way the consumer benefits. The title has nothing to do with the bill's intent. It creates a revenue stream for all governmental agencies involved. It has created the Holy Grail situation of being able to increase taxes without calling it an income tax. Sorry, misspoke; the accepted term is fees not taxes. That is the model the Health Care Act effectively followed; increase the base so new fees can be created.
