when you change over to fat32 format your drive with the /z:64 switch on, provided you can afford the slack space..my drive benchmark went up about 1000 points(si soft sandra)
NTFS is not available for Serpreme's system. (Win98) Its in the name NTFS. New Technology file system. (NT file system) reconise it ?

There are other OS's that support it. Linux is one. Main advantages are : Security built-in, journaled, support for multiple data streams, built-in file compression.

surpreme could run 2k on there.... and he'll have ntfs if he'd like that would allow him to run a bit faster..... i don't know exactly how fast he could possibly go with a 400 but let me tell u i've had 2 k6-2 systems and they both rocked.... i still have a 500 now... and it runs stronger then my celeron 700
The only way to get NTFS on a 98 system is to use another external program like NTFS for Win98. BTW I was refering to Serpreme's current sys, not a future OS change.
Running win2k on 128Mb ram will work. But 2k needs more ram to run effectivly. I noticed that on my old p3 500 setup. 128Mb was a little crippleing as far as games go.

NTFS doesnt mean you can run games faster, in fact there is virtually no speed advantage using NTFS, for the main pro's read my previous post. 2k doesnt mean you can run games faster. Many people have found that 98se is one of the fastest OS's for games.
