Again, what the community does with a game has very little to do with the actual game's quality.

Yes, in FC4's case people are finding ways to trying to fix the stuttering, and yes it's something that should've been taken care of before release.

But, even so, people would still tweak the game to places beyond what the developers would.
It's how it happens. Look at Doom 3, Crysis... and many, many others. Even Alien: Isolation.

 

Especially the elephants up close. Man...it looks great.

AI is pretty good too. A hunter purposely blew up my copter. I was like...wow...

 

Just liberated about 12 of the 17 bell towers using that dodgy little helicopter, fly straight in the opening where the radio is, land, job done, fly away

 

usually something or other outta the blue will happen on a regular outing for me.
i started it on max difficulty and i'm making my way through it very slow.
bow is my preferred weapon currently, as satisfying as a kill in wolfenstein.

 

Hard not to be tempted to do this myself as I have already done it with the last bell tower. Flew right up to ti and climbed out right before the heli fell to the ground. I still prefer doing it the traditional way.

 

Yeah i do see a slight decrease, problem is my cards vram gets maxxed out, shame cause the card also runs at around 80-100fps even with MIPS turned on.
Soon as crank things up my Vram gets bashed. Saying that with no MIPS and all on ultra i hit 1700mb and games still looks nice.

It will do me until ED comes out as well as other games, i dont plan on playing this game for alongtime anyhow.

 

Where the bloody hell is this new patch?

 

The game actually doesn't look that bad with everything set to the lowest either, preferred certain things at that setting too, looked much clearer

Beautiful game on PC, but major problems as day turns to night. At night your just playing in a near washed out black screen with no ability to see anything except the far off horizon.
It so bad that you almost have to sit and wait until dawn again to continue playing. The last updates have not fixed this issue. Hope they correct that soon. Having to kill friendly's just to get a weapon also needs to be corrected. Then a new mission starts and the weapons you did manage to get are taken away. So far this game is loaded with playability, graphical, and proper lighting issues. Hope this gets fixed soon. The default weapons selection prompt seldom even works to effectively and quickly change weapons. Finding ammo is also more of a chore that sucks the fun factor from the game. Too much complexity has ruined what could have been a great FPS for PC.

 

I got the 1.4 patch from torrent as Ubisoft pulled it before releasing it because of Disable usb joypad crap that you have too do.

The 1.4 patch has really improved my game more than the 1.3
A couple more patches with usual .ini tweaks and the game will play just like Fc3 did.

Infact i find that Fc3 was more of a performance hit than what Fc4 is.

 

Does it do the black screen with the torrent?

 

Rumour has it 1.4 was leaked just for the pirates. Don't be shocked if your saves get corrupted

 

After 10 hours of gameplay I can honestly say that far cry 3 is the superior game. I mean fc4 adds a lot of new stuff, but it just feels empty. I like a good story in a game to keep me interested and motivated, and fc4 just doesn't have that. Its still a fun open world game, but theres no sense of accomplishment.

 

Nope, all is good. I was getting a little stuttering when i hit one of the towers so i dropped all settings to High and all is smooth at 100fps constant on GPU stock settings. Game runs better on stock than when the gpu is running at 1372mhz! I get more fps in this game which is the opposite to every other game.

They wont become corrupted and even if they did i couldnt give a monkeys, i will probably be bored of it by that stage anyway and will have uninstalled it and sent it to the recycle bin permanently

I posted the 1.4 files a few pages back. Just override the files in the game folder. You won't be able to connect online with this though. Just verify far cry in uplay if you want to revert.

Did this the other day too, I just want to unlock some of the guns so I'm fine with doing that.

 

Love this sell it broke now and fix it later industry we have here. Especially when it looks like I will have to use 4gb of my 10gb monthly bandwidth cap just to update this dumb game.

Too bad we just accept this as standard practice.

 

Really digging this game, got oxide's config from earlier in the thread but set some things to ultra instead of very high and disabled volumetric fog (I think the fog/godrays look terrible, much prefer without and it performs better). Still get 60-95 fps with very little stuttering and it looks amazing. One thing I recommend for anyone that uses his config is to set AlphaToCoverage="0" instead of 1, it basically does nothing and will affect performance a little bit. I also really like not having the hud, it feels a little uncomfortable at first but it makes me start to look around and actually pay attention to what's happening rather than just focusing on the minimap and going on auto-pilot from waypoint to waypoint all the time
